--- My mostest favorite piece of music, especially the "Christmas Hallelujah" version, which is 3/4 time... This is a great strumming embellishment especially with tempo change... Thank you! 🎉

Hey Brett. Good stuff in that lesson. I have been "trying" to learn Caledonia in 6/8 time. Another great song. Looking forward to more. Stay well. Jeff.

Glad you enjoyed, Jeff! And you can definitely apply these same ideas to playing other 6/8 songs, so I'm happy to hear about how you're working on applying it to "Caledonia". Cheers!

I love these jamming alongside you sessions because you make everything really clear, you take things slowly and build up to more challenging things. What’s also really good is the repetition that you build in so that we can jam with you. It’s very motivating to practise with you and then, after a while, I can keep up! It’s magic... Your lessons are really helping me change my chords quicker. On my wish list for another ‘Jamming with Brett’ tutorial, would be a more summer-vibe song. As always, thank you Brett!

I am still having trouble moving from one chord to another smoothly and when I try to strum a pattern too, it's a mess! Part of my problem is with counting the strums and switching chords at the same time. My question: Is there a way to highlight each chord on the screen (or a bouncing ball) as it is played so that we can practice the strum timing and chord switch at the right tempo? It's hard to see which chord you are playing exactly when and keep the strumming count correct. Like, there is so much going on at one time. How do I get better at putting all that together? I feel like I am struck at the moment. Help!

You are absolutely correct that a lot is happening at once, so don't be discouraged if it's not coming quickly! Chords changes can be challenging. Based on what you describe, I would recommend pausing the video and practicing counting out loud while strumming the chord changes at a slower tempo than what I'm playing. While playing along with me is fun, practicing this way will really help you more than anything else at this stage. What this does is allow you to acquire the chord change repetitions to build your muscle memory while keeping a steady rhythm or count. As you develop this muscle memory, you can play the video again and better sense the rhythm because you've practiced it separate from the video. Remember this is a process! :) P.S. - Thank you for the bouncing ball idea. I will see if I can learn this editing trick to help improve future videos!

May I ask which fingers did u use to strum the chords?

For this specific pattern, I used the nail-side of my middle and ring fingers for down strums and the flesh side of the index finger for up strums!
