Hello GreekLovers! Welcome to my channel!
I am Rita Dana, founder and tutor of greek2go. greek2go provides targeted tuition for adult foreigners who would like to develop their knowledge of the Greek language and culture.

A few things about me...
I achieved my degree in Greek philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and went on to obtain my Master’s in Adult Education. Furthermore, I have qualified for my certification in teaching Greek as a foreign language and I have been developing my experience in this field since 2010.

On 2020 I decided to create this channel and share my knowledge & passion for teaching Greek with all of you! I hope you enjoy my content!

Hi! When you need it in the context. For example: Mary is sleeping ( Η Μαρία κοιμάται-Γ2-) or Mary is sitting in the chair (Η Μαρία κάθεται στην καρέκλα -Γ1-).

Γεια σασ 😊 the equivalent words in English of , and and before , when telling the time... Is past ✓ instead of 'and' e.g Five past twelve. (12:05) and insteadt of using before, the equivalent word in english when telling the time, is to ✓ e.g 12: 50 => it's ten to twelve. Keep up the great work.

I know... As I explained you yesterday, here I teach Greek, so please pay attention to the words that I use in Greek (and what these words mean in English). Do not translate or stay in the way or in the expressions of English, as they are 2 totally different languages. In Greek is "and" for "past" and "before" for "to". Try to change your way of thinking and adjust it to the way that I explain the grammar/structure/vocabulary etc. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to find similarities and to remember things. Thank you in advance.

We don't pronounce in English, woman, the w, sound is equal to U... Uoman, as a pronounciation.

I understand that it is hard to find an equivalent word in english to mean exactly as that sound. I am trying to learn Greek and so far I have stopped at your channel here. Keep up the good work. How different is the Greek spoken in Cyprus from standard Greek? If I would learn standard Greek will it be possible to understand and communicate with people in Cyprus?

Are very different, but you will not have a problem, i suppose. The modern Greek is the official language. It's better to ask though a teacher from Cypprus to guide you better than me, as I am from Crete.
