I love this channel and wish you post more often. It's really helpful that you talk slow and clear so I can understand even though I'm a beginner. 😊 Your lessons are great!

I’m guessing τελικός is also an exception to the rule? Since the feminine is τελική?
@greek2go
@greek2go 2 жыл бұрын
Hello!Τελικός why? The letter before - ος is consonant (not the sound /e/ or /i/). The word τελικός follows the rule, like καλός, μικρός, μεγάλος etc.😊😊

Ευχαριστούμε πολύ, αλλά χρειάζομαι βοηθά ακόμα. Τι κάνουμε όταν δεν υπάρχει ένα ουσιαστικό… πως ξέρουμε το γένος του επιθέτου; Για παράδειγμα - «Είναι σημαντικό» γιατί είναι ουδέτερο και όχι αρσενικό ή θηλυκό; Θα μπορούσατε παρακαλώ να απαντήσετε στα αγγλικά, αν είναι πιθανόν.
@greek2go
@greek2go 2 жыл бұрын
When you don't have an adjective, probably is hidden. For example "Είναι σημαντικό" , we mean "αυτό" or "το θέμα", "το ζήτημα", "το πράγμα". So every time you have to think carefully of the context that this phrase or sentence belong to, because there (in the previous sentences) is your noun hidden. Thank you for your comment 🙏💗

@@greek2go thank you so so much, I really struggled to find any information about this on the internet, I have been searching for days and finally found your video which was far more helpful than anything else I’d found which is why I was hoping you might be able to help me… and you did! I’m learning Greek through Duolingo right now and there are a lot of lessons that ask you to translate sentences like «είναι σημαντικό» without any context or prior sentence. Also may I ask why you used «το ζήτημα» and not «η ερώτηση», I’m just worried that the next time a get a short sentence without a noun, i might come to the conclusion that noun the sentence is referring to is “question” and therefore might think that the hidden noun is “η ερώτηση” which would then cause me to use the incorrect gender for the adjective.
@0mnom

@@greek2go sorry to ask another question but I just remembered what sentence caused all of this confusion in the first place. The sentence i need to translate is - “you are very basic” so how would I know which gender to use since it hasn’t provided any context about who I’m speaking to or their gender 🤯
