I'm learning the hard way. The first set i did had the c-clip on the roller bolts. I agreed to do a 2013 for the same customer and it has these roll pins. I got one out with a m3x .6 tap. The second roll pin is fighting me much worse. I want to drill straight through like you described in this video, but now i have a tap broke off in the roll pin hole. I ordered a m3 tap extractor and really hope it comes out. I have faith it will. In the event it comes out, im going to drill through and install a new jack shaft bearing in the process. Man, i wish i had saw this video first.. the video i watched said i could use a drift and tap it through.. i have the short pins and i think i damaged the one im fighting with when i attempted to tap it through. Wish me luck.!

Is it correct that engine temp (only) function can be activated in ecu by dealers with BUDS ? These modules are not sold anymore it seems.

I read in a few posts where guys claim the pin is not actually requird and did not replace the it. They just tourque the bolt and used the lock tight. Hence the reason for no hole in the new bolt.

Why does everyone take the entire jackshaft out? My secondary on my XP just slides right off....

Yours is not stock then. 99.9% of the population has a stock secondary clutch.

Why cant i take the clutch off the jack shaft and hold it in a press while removing the 4 bolts holding the helix on?

I just saw the video and was wondering as he was skectchy on the description as to what the materials and dimensions really were?

well made but with material prices these days for steel its a lot cheaper to just buy one. i would prefer to build my own but this design is too complicated and pricey.

I have a 2014 Yamaha Viking that I believe the pinion has went out in. The rack looks very similarly designed to the one in this video. How hard would it be to remove and replace the pinion in it myself? How hard is it to get the rack and everything centered for reinstallation? Any tips or advice would be appreciated! I’ve never messed with anything steering related before.

Many thanks. I found on a G4, loosening the chain helps relieve the strain on the chain allowing the shaft to re-enter and line up more easily.

++As a HD/Yamaha certified Tech, Do not disassemble the axle the way he did it, you will damage so many things that you'll end up buying the whole axle assembly. Just take it to a trusted authorized dealership. End of story++

I did mine exact way you did which was great by the way and this morn when it was -32 my machine was dead. Do you think that’s cause it’s colder then cold or could it be something is drawing power? I’m hoping it’s the cold part hahaha

I have a 2012 Summit, which doesn't have the glove box. Do you know if that same connector is available in the same spot? If so, I'll just need to figure out how to mount the cigarette adapter. I'm also looking for a way to mount a small GPS.
