It looks that the base pin is a baby / junior combo pin!? Can you confirm this? If you remove the knob it should be a junior pin which much stable than the baby… 😊

Not needed to think about booms before until recently - and its a lot bigger than I envisioned. Sturdy and versatile though but... another heavy hit to my wallet! Very well built and engineered though by the look of it, so worth the money. Definitely think Id use one though, thanks for posting.

I own a much larger boom! The Westscott Mini Boom is just the "perfect" downsize.

Thanks James for this video and test. Really interesting stuff indeed. Question about misfires: when a misfire occurs on a shutter burst sequence, do you know if it damages the strobe electronics or the resistor as we are asking for it to fire again before it recharges. I ask because I'm sadly in the Godox/Flashpoint ecosystem and it's recharge rate didn't fare too well in this test respectively. Thanks!
@QuantzPhoto15 күн бұрын
Hey Dave, no I don’t think it harms it. That’s what they’re made to do! The Godox def worked best when the batteries were close to 100% if I remember correctly.

How do you trigger your westcott lights and your Einstein lights together?
@QuantzPhoto19 күн бұрын
The Einsteins are set to the optical trigger so they fire whenever another strobe fires.

Got a question... On the Godox/Flashpoint AC adapter, do you need a 10 gage extension cord so the AC adapter can keep up with the power demand of the 600watt light?

Hi James! Great content as always! What would you suggest (backdrop wise) for someone going on location to photograph a dance studio? Right now I'm planning to do a white fabric back 9x20 white (horizontal) with a white vinyl floor taped. It needs to be wide enough for groups to pose and safe enough for individual poses and jumps...that's why I chose vinyl over fabric for the floor. Any thoughts?
@QuantzPhoto26 күн бұрын
That sounds pretty buttoned up to me!
@JuJuGrafiks25 күн бұрын
@@QuantzPhoto Thanks! Now if I could just get the backend buttoned up! Have never used QR codes but am thinking I've got to go that route to keep all the dancers organized...paper forms aren't going to cut it.

James, I got an email from Tether Tools with a link to your Gamecock's football 2024 shoot. Man, I really loved watching that video. Myself and a friend have been shooting a few high school football teams for their banners and posters to hand out. So, I got a chance to look through some of your other videos and I came across this photo shoot. I couldn't believe my eyes, I served 3-1/2 years aboard a Nuclear Submarine as a cook. When I saw this uniform for the Army - Navy game, I thought those are some really awesome uniforms and helmets. I have even bought a few of the shirts so I could wear to our Navy Reunion back in April of 2024. So, this is just a very special video for me since I served aboard a submarine and I have been doing sports photography on the side for 20 years. You do awesome work and I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!! David MS3/SS

Hey James, I just picked up two softboxes and 2 2x3 PLM. I'm pretty stoked but just realized that my AD100's are not going to cut it. I do have one AD200 and a 600 but the 6 is my key. If I get another 200, how well will this work outdoors? I'm in my 1st year using OCF and I'm hooked. I just don't have it in the budget right now for 2 more 400 or 600. Maybe by the end of this season.....but for now I gotta use what I got. Great video by the way!
@QuantzPhotoАй бұрын
Hey Donny, totally get it! You can try raising your camera iso and lowering the power on your key to help bring up the power in the 200's. Outside might be tough depending on the time of day though...
