Feels about right to me. I don't live too far from Reno myself, so 2 and FONV are two of my big faves. You should consider a trip out this way sometime. Good Springs NV is a real micro dot on the map but serves as something of a Mecca to us FO fans. Lots of good cheap campgrounds cover the state as well if that is your thing. Just make sure you book in advance for places to camp on Tahoe's shore if you come to the North end.

Yoooo a series you make props for? Catch me watching every episode hell yeah dude! another great video! audio in the intro was a bit muffled but the voiceover was a massive improvement from last time. Paisley is super cute! question: does the action stiffen up after you paint it? i used to paint legos and other stuff i had as a kid and fitting them together/using them as intended wasn't always as smooth as from the factory
@rocketcoffinstudios2 ай бұрын
@@flewis thank you! Yea I got a better mic again, just need some noise canceling stuff in the garage. I used a background noise reduction app thing on the voice over as my air conditioner was running in the garage so there was an annoying hum in the clip. The noise reducer totally eliminated it in the voice over but I think it over corrected the intro a bit and muffled it lol On Some blasters painting them will cause the action to stiffen up or even stick and not function. All depends on what sort of clearances the moving parts have and how much the additional layers of paint bulk up the part. This thing wasn’t affected at all by the painting but there’s like 1/4 inch gaps around the area the action moves through. On hasbro blasters I usually have problems with the trigger mechanism and the rev trigger on electric blasters. Anytime I paint hasbro blasters the triggers will get stuck to the rear due to the additional paint.

yes, the wood grain is overkill. At a distance looks good, but on close up it looks like a cartoon painting of wood grain. Less overkill work would have also looked good at a distance, would have looked less cartoonish on close-up (*) and would have been less work and expense. On the other hand, the gunmetal work was superb, one of your best. (*: Even with bad cameras. If the exaggerated grain shows up on the one you used for this video, which surely isn't also a professional cinema camera, won't it likely also show up if you guys decide to have a very close hero shot of the prop for the show? I'm not trying to be a smartass telling you how to do your job, just offering unsolicited, unpaid and unpopular input of where you hit disminishing returns.)

Why the use of plastidip opposed to just a primer?
@rocketcoffinstudios2 ай бұрын
@@OutlawMike-g7c laziness. Regular primer will work on nerf/ dart blasters but in my experience it will scratch off easy if you don’t sand the blaster first to help the paint stick to it. Not always but it happened enough times I got fed up with it. I also hate sanding with a passion. So tedious and boring. My adhd can’t handle it 😂 plasti dip is designed to stick to plastic so it doesn’t need the blaster to be sanded before hand. . I also always have plasti dip on hand as it’s what I use on foam floor mats for prop making. So yea either will work I just prefer plasti dip
@OutlawMike-g7c2 ай бұрын
@@rocketcoffinstudios stuff I read said primer first then plasti dip. As for sanding, for my 3d prints I put together this makeshift precision sander I saw online. You take an electric toothbrush, cut the bristles off the head, then glue a little disc of sandpaper to the head. I tested it on this particular gun and it helped remove the logo and smoothed out the "Made in China".

Well brother, totally agree with what you said. First, ya need a new mic, the fallback one was spiking hot and tinny. Just a comment on audio but yeah, it works in a pinch. As we are both avid Halo fans, yeah, Hasbro knocked it out of the park with this one. Beautiful 1 to 1 replica (and the ODST armour was a nice touch) Great for cosplay or a collector's piece. I would totally run that in a war (I've been known to do stranger things) Hasbro darts suck, common knowledge in the hobby so not surprised to see the difference when you switched darts. It's interesting because Hasbro went back to an old design from the Dart Tag line for this one (Speed swarm, I think) Great video as always, hope you and the fam are doing alright. Talk soon brother. Much love, Doc out
