I would suggest a longer lock mechanism with a nice finishing collar for the inside of the bag so it doesn't look like it was installed by a hillbilly. Especially with nice bags like Long Ride! That rough cut hole looks terrible! Otherwise, nice, flexible setup with the Claw! I'm going to install some nice clean Pelican top loading ammo boxes with recessed handles. Waterproof and lockable.

Hey, sadly you need to consider where you ride and how you need to left the bike unattended. It's worth noting though that with the Sidekick system: 1. The bag can be locked onto the motorcycle. 2. The opening of the bag can be secured with a little padlock 3. It takes literally 3 seconds to take the bag off the bike to take it with you. So we're left with the scenario where everything is "secured" but the bag is left on the bike and someone motivated enough, with the right tools decides to cut it open... If you believe this might happen then definitely take advantage of the quick-release system to simply take the bag with you.

@the.longride
@the.longride 3 ай бұрын
Hi! Very difficult to say, the W650 is a fairly older model and we haven't got a chance to try. However, it seems unlikely that the frame will be exactly the same from a 2007 or older W650 to a 2024 W800...

Figured you guys might want to know this does fit a 2015 Scrambler. I just put it on my '15 Scrambler Classic and while it did require taking off the rear fender I still had the holders on in an hour. After attaching the holders I was able to put the fender back on. Looks great.

Just got the ammo bags and the brackets on my 2023 W800. Couldnt have asked for a better fit. One thing i would have recommended is to undo the 4 screws on the fender and let it rest on the tire to give yourself more space to unscrew the two back screws passenger handles. Otherwise, 10/10 product!

These look a great bit of kit, I have a soft set of panniers on my Triumph street twin and these would be a great option, the straps on the present set up have no way of locking onto the frames, it would be good to fit these for a more secure set up, and easy to take off and put on,

A mechanical detail of assembly, I think that the bolt that holds the shock absorber has its washer directly under the bolt head. You must adjust the shock absorber support bolt to 28 nm. The saddlebags look beautiful, I have mounted the SW_Motech Legend Gear.

Hi! If upon installation the holders end up touching the springs, you can bend the holders away from the motorcycle to create a safe distance. It won't damage the holders if you shape them this way once.

Good point, will update the video description, we have to recommand checking the Triumph manual that comes with the motorcycle for exact Torque figures, as the saddlebag holders work across several Triumphs, and over several year models. If we find out that the same specs works across all models, we will update the video accordingly. Thanks!

@the.longride
@the.longride 10 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your feedback, it depends on the bags basically, you can lock most of them. If you look up the Longride Racer for example, you can padlock the flap. On the Patriot saddlebag it will be a different technic but doable. Some panniers you cannot, so it's something to consider when choosing the bags if that is an important aspect for you.

Beautiful bags but poorly secured to the motorcycle. The saddle bag straps are best under the seat. A length of leather string tied to the bike and small D-rings aren't a good idea! Tiring a heavy top-bag to the d-rings is also weak. Seems to me the load you can safely carry is very limited. I definitely recommend installing a rail system (if you can find one) to carry saddle bags and cargo.
@the.longride
@the.longride 10 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your feedback. I'll say that the rider who shot this video has actually travelled all over France using that setup, however you are right, nothing beats proper saddlebag rail, or a frame to support the bags properly.

A straight-forward way to find out is to measure the center to center distance between the 2 mounting points. If that's 4.3" then it will work ! We need to do some testing on the next-gen models to make sure, but if you have one, check that distance and you'll know right away.
