I have a theory that might make sense in the future of One Punch Man since it involves the previous timeline that may still exist as a parallel world that has now a separate different timeline and Garou's factor able to corrupt God's own divine power in Empty Void, if any of you remembered this important event that happened in the previous timeline where God took back his powers from Garou and turned Garou into salt, it is possible that Garou's factor might be affecting God himself in the previous timeline the same way how Garou's factor also affects Empty Void in the current timeline who also took back God's power and absorbed it in this current timeline. Garou's nature is kinda like a virus to God's power, in the future it is possible that if One decides to reconnect the previous timeline and the current timeline we might see the version of God himself in the previous timeline being affected like Empty Void by this virus also known as Garou's aspect that corrupted and twisted the powers that where both given and taken away by God himself

I don't see a reason why Gon and Killua would go to the Dark Continent at this point. Killua wants to protect Alluka, so I doubt he would involve her in the potential danger. Killua and Gon went seperate ways before the current arc began, so seeing them reuinte "only" 1 arc later would seem too soon for me. Keep in mind it doesnt matter how much time has passed in our world, but in the world of HxH. And I think not a lot of time has passed since they went seperate ways? Maybe a couple of weeks or months. And even if they wanted to go there, they don't have the means. They would need to be on the ship already. The only way I see would be for Alluka to teleport them to someone the 2 kids know. Gin or Kurapika for example. But again, that would mean Killua would leave Alluka behind, which he won't. And he won't bring Alluka with him either because that would be dangerous for her. So, would Gon want to on his own? Why? He doesnt even have nen. First he would need to get it back. And then he would need a reason to why he MUST get there fast. Maybe if he found out that his friends reached the continent and got in trouble and needed his help. But how would Gon get information like that? Ofc, everything could be solved with fitting Nen abilities... but it might feel too forced. Ofc this is Togashi we are talking about so he could probably come up with a way to make it all fit together. But i dont know.. i dont get the sense that Gon or Killua fit into the story now. It feels more like this could be Gin's story now. Or Kurapika's. IF HxH would end after the Dark Continent, I'd already have an ending in mind. But for me, the Dark Continent has been the biggest mystery box in any story I've ever read. You saw the map. There is so much there that could be explored, too much. It almost feels like it could spark it's own mythos , similar to lovecraft's cthulhu mythos. Maybe Togashi won't explore the Dark Continent in his own work, and leave it for other authors to flesh it out. who knows. It's weird, in OnePiece everyone wants to find 1 specific thing. And in HxH I am waiting to reach new land where nothing is specific yet.

Maybe gons mother was from the dark continent and thats why he was a natural at certain things and found it so easy to learn certain skills.

I like Gon, but at this point there’s really no need for him or Killua going forward. They were good introductions to the story. I’d just prefer for Togashi to continue the story of other characters. What the point of a stronger Gon when we already have Ging?

Gon heading to the Dark Continent sounds cool, but it doesn’t make sense right now. He’s lost his Nen, and without it, surviving there is nearly impossible-it’s not just another adventure spot, it’s a literal death trap. Plus, with Ging already found, Gon's main motivation is gone. His arc feels more about recovery and growth now, not jumping into something that even veteran Hunters can barely handle.

Gon was the wild boy archetype when introduced, i think he'd be able to survive the dark continent on his skills alone. Plus he's proven to have his sea legs, so if he could find a crew brave/dumb enough to go, Gon would make it as long as the ship stayed intact.

Going to the dark continent is almost like some form of wish system. You let the Gatekeeper know what you want to find, and it exists, but it bases the disasters after those wants. Someone wanted to be immortal, and it created two forms of it: by constantly eating nitro rice or by getting infected with Zobai.
