She sings to make people feel better about that stuff it’s not dark the topics make people feel more like people understand them it’s not just sad stuff I am of course not telling people to be a fan or what of course she is a good singer, people do do that stuff in real life she is showing most stuff that people are insecure about ,somebody said in the comments it made her feel better about her body, she has beautiful music to most people

You should talk to some Vietnam Vets or at least study some history before making a video looking so stupid while accusing others who know more than yourself of looking stupid. Another thing that shows you know not what you speak of is patriotism is loving one's country, not the government or actions of the people. You also have no clue what the "yellow man" means in the song. Springsteen is a liberal today yes but there was a time when both sides loved the country, just had different ideas how to reach the same goal unlike now when the left hates America. This song is very old from back before half the country hated it.

I understood those two lines (How could he go when he's got everything? I'll mourn for a kid but won't cry for a king" as going together as one thing that's said by "some people" and not coming from Tyler's perspective.

Bravo & grazie ! 🤟💙 No cult, no suicides. Song suggestion: The man that got away. And please mention: from Judy Garland's rendition 💔 to phenomenal Megan Mullally's in Will&Grace new new episode , when Karen enters laundry shop (3+ minutes version). Keep the dilligent and wise work. Hugs from Belgrade, Serbia capital.

He's right that the song really means nothing and was directed at "experts" who were over-analyzing Beatle songs, which John Lennon detested. He had not done well in school and this was his way of getting back at all those pretentious academics. Eggman was the nickname of a boy John knew, in school, I think. Edgar Allen Poe was one of John's favorite writers.

they can say what they want about what it's about.. it doesn't make sense in the context of how it's sung to me it sounds more like an old couple and the wife has dementia and the husband is gently taking care of her. and as someone who has known more members in my family than i care to consider with forms of dementia it sounds like a caregiver and their spouse having a conversation during a lucid period "you're gone, gone, gone away i watched you disappear all that's left is a ghost of you" dementia is insidious.. it kills the person that was years before the body stops functioning. "i watched you disappear all that's left is a ghost of you"

Good Try Guys, Cute Couple. It means "Cheer Life" means in that context, to embrace life in a cheerful and graceful way as Jehovah indented. Embrace and acknowledge that life is good at the core. EMBRACE THAT LIFE IS GOOD! SO LIVE IT GOOD!

Hi folks. He's going to "explain" to you what a song means. HE'S ALWAYS WRONG!!.....It's pretty simple really. Every person reading this has at one time in your life had a class that covered poetry. And what was the question you were always asked in that class? "WHAT DO YOU THINK THE AUTHOR WAS SAYING"....They never told you did, yet somehow this fellow thinks an internet search will reveal the meaning of song lyrics, which after all are just poetry. The point of poetry is to make you think, to expand your horizons, your understanding, also the meaning of the poetry will expand and change as you have more experiences in life. A huge part of the joy of music is the discovery, NOT BEING TOLD WHAT TO THINK!!! Think for yourself, talk among your friends and discover YOUR meaning to the poetry and just ignor this clickbait fool

This is a really dark but beautiful song. I always thought it was about suicide and/or mental health issues. The "I don't want to go like this" showing some ambivalence about the act yet still feeling pulled toward it.

Weak is not really the complete story, from my interpretation. It’s more so that a person has realized their issues are detrimental and have been trying to stop them, but they feel powerless because they keep failing to resist temptation and they’re starting to wonder if they should stop resisting. The story can go in one of two ways, where they learn how to distance themselves from their addictions slowly and become a better person instead of just trying to purge the addiction from themselves completely, or where they give in and accept temptation. Weak is about the crossroads between those two paths and about AJR trying to figure out what’s the right option.

BTW RE: Hello Darkness my old friend . Paul Simon himself said that "darkness" was depression. Not the mental health condition but simply sadness at what he was expressing about feeling ignored by the world. And because you didn't understand THAT you used one of the most beautiful openings in pop music to make lame pathetic jokes. ....you really are some piece of work

HOLY CRAP!! some superduty irony here (but you have to wait till the end)...You actually think something like poetry can be in the public realm for close to 60 years and not have it's meaning change? That others would take what they heard and put their own interpretation , their own meaning on it?? Are you really THAT dense? You claim some sort of pop music knowledge and don't understand THAT?????? Here let me help you from right here on KZbin. Do you or anyone listening actually believe these men's words have the same meaning. They are the same words, expressed differently and COMPLETELY changing the meaning of those words. Simon & Garfunkel 1965....kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKizZKmGhs5jpKs Disturbed 2016.......kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2qnmGCdbNllopY TWO distinct and separate meanings to the very same words......The great irony here is that you are doing precisely what Simon was complaining about when he wrote the song PEOPLE LISTENING WITHOUT HEARING!!!!!! Do yourself a favor and stay away from the song "HURT", ...I guarantee you'll fuck up 100 times worse if you go there.

I think “boys will be boys then” refers to the hot mike incident where Trumps behavior was excused with “it’s just locker room talk.” And a lot of women felt like… oh ok it’s fine to disrespect us, sexually assault us, etc.

For me viva la vida means hail to the life. Live the life would be vive la vida. For me I like to think, that this song means, that when we were young we rule the world, everything was possible, we were the best at all and had many enemies that wanted to be you. The future was our destiny. We grew up and life settle, then othered are the kings and all the accomplishments that we achieve, are our castles, and when we get old we realize that all of those accomplishments are fragile. Saint Peter won’t call my name because life eventually becomes a burden and working and struggling is part of it and sometime we wish that all the struggles are over/. Missionaries are our kids that go to the world and live based on the parents teachings. Analogies can be found along the song that make sense to me. But maybe Chris Martin meant something else.

A little late, but im honestly shocked that there are so many interpretstions of this song. I actually got the idea that the song was being sang by an absent father who wishes he was still around, afraid he'll be forgotten by the time he enters the child's life again, and hoping to impart some advice or wisdom. The song sounds sad to me, like there is a blissful ignorange (the fun poppy synth) but what its saying - the melodic progression - is regretful, remourseful. The family of trees in want of haunting seems like a call from the child and the father to one another, both having their own families, both feeling incomplete without the other. Tbh i dont really care what the true meaning is anymore, im more engrossed by all the other explanationsnive found

So cohen and backly plagiarism my song and change the words. But iam the only person who write the original song. It's my honor to announce here the investigation, prosecute and audit of this melody music with a lyrics of misongia. Investigate, prosecute and veredict to jail and by an audit incautar todos los bienes de Cohen y Beckley y toda la gente apoyando y fomentando este horrendo plagio y misongino dañino forma de hacerme daño. "I'm a first class let down" I immediately pictured my dad laughing and calling my brother "Claire's a first class let down! Isn't that clever?" My family traumas are more than one person should experience in one lifetime. I'm that much stronger for it, but I don't feel one should have so many horrible, dangerous experiences to have survived and still be empathetic and vulnerable
