Another one of my favorite artists, another amazing talk. What makes me happy about all of these is to see that they're all great persons, humble and really down to earth. Thanks Lee for giving us the posibility to know a little bit more about the persons as much as the Artists! Cheers!

Another great episode! Justine's passion and love for fantasy is so evident in her pieces. I have a sticker of an insanely cool warrior elf of hers on my turntable from brief stint on Patreon haha.

Great episode! I love to see artists in the fantasy genre on here. Most of the Magic artists at Magic Con I talked to, said they listen to Heavy Metal. I got a couple of my cards and tokens from Justine at a recent Magic Con. Love the alternate art in the Magic scene.

Thank you so much for having me on!!! Was awesome to chat! I also want to correct one thing i think i said when describing the mtg Pauper format, I said it was with cheap cards, but really it's with common cards (which are often cheaper, but not always!) I want to make sure i represent the format correctly, because it's an awesome community <3 I realized my mistake after i said it and have been thinking about it ever since lol

Loved this video. When I started taking an interest again as a young adult Richey was the first modern artist I came across that had me completely enamoured, the first time I remember thinking “this is the where I want to get to”. So rad to hear the stories and process about these pieces even if it is hard to swallow that he was figuring it all out as he went 😅.
@punkbus124 күн бұрын
thanks for doing a long interview man. this is probably the second interview I've seen with Richey, the other being the Revolver one which was also great. Dude is so humble. I often think about living in the city now vs the country(closer to forests/nature) where I grew up, and how it influences art.
@HeavyArtTalk24 күн бұрын
Thank you for tuning in! Richey is a great role model for artists in regard to that humility.

Just saw the cover of the Pyrrhon - Exhaust album and was blown away. I’ve never heard the band, never seen this artist’s work before, but WOW. The contrast of gorgeous colors and detail, but then the tragic reality of it (poor bird, oil rainbows, etc.). Stunning job.

I was just wondering if there will be a legit deep dive interview of Richey and here we are, and I have to say this must be done by you than any other interviewer, I haven’t watched it yet but I can feel that it’s gonna be a good one! Can’t wait to get into this! Love from Taiwan 🇹🇼 appreciate your work!

Katsuya Terada is GREAT! A few of his works are translated and recently in print. Rakuda Laughs is an awesome brazen manga that he made while heavily drawing from Frank Miller. One of my favorites in my collection. Another artist you may be familiar with is Hiroaki Samura, he’s a trained oil painter who fell into manga in the 90s and is unique for doing a lot of graphite drawings. His anatomy and composition for action scenes is also pretty much head and shoulders above his contemporaries, and he never shies away from very taboo subject matter. Maybe akin to manga’s Tarantino or Takashi Miike, just more reclusive than either. Anyway, awesome vid, great finds.
