as an artist myself, Chase is a very good art director just from the way he talks about collaborating with artists. saying "I reference the work they make and talk to them about what they made that I like, and show them things I think is Gatecreeper" is the perfect way to art direct. Supporting the artist and acknowledging their work, and guiding them with new things that he wants is perfect - and you can tell based on the merch and artwork they've put out!
