In 2024, the Bitcoin network used about 140 terawatt-hours of energy annually. It's not even close. Even if Christmas light usage doubled or tripled during the past 15 years, it's still an order of magnitude less than the Bitcoin network uses in a year. I don't personally care, but if you use this as an argument in favor of the Bitcoin network, it just gives the anti-Bitcoiner's something shoot down to help their case.
