Is it normal for the new sensors to throw these codes after you replace them for the first few driving cycles?
@leedfollowАй бұрын
Nope, afraid not. If you cleared the codes before you fitted the new sensors then you definitely shouldn’t see the codes return. Its possible your new sensor is bad. You could clear the codes then switch it around with one of the sensors from the other side of the engine. If the code then moves to a different place then you know thats the issue.

Are you using the BRZ/86 manual box with your ez30? If so, I know you can bolt the box to engine with some modifications but do you know if the gearbox mounts to its original position and then it can use the original tail shaft or is a custom gearbox mount and custom tail shaft needed?

@lookbfryoux4337Ай бұрын
@@jordaneversen3147 Okay so I'm using the original Auto Transmission. But the only modification I had to do to the gearbox to get it to fit is notch the EZ30 block to let the starter motor fit. One of the starter motor bolts also doesn't thread through to the block anymore so I had to tap a thread into the gearbox to get the starter motor to mount solidly. I've seen another guy mount his ez30 to the original manual transmission though. He basically had to make the same modifications.

Hands at 9-3, keep hands on the wheel unless it really snaps or you reach the limit where your arms hit each other. Always look at your exit point and stare where you want the car to go, focus on the weight of the car and steer to keep it as stable as possible but use throttle to curl out from the apex to the exit point. Hopefully see you about at a few next year 🤟

I drive GT86 myself and I've been on few track days and please correct me if I am wrong, but in my opinion it's too much opposite lock applied during loosing of rear end which in sudden gaining of grip caused shift of weight and then your mate just lost it. Another thing is position of hands on steering wheel. I know that shuffling steering wheel is easiest way to operate but actually keeping 9-3 position of hands on steering wheel helps a lot of controlling a car. And with good siting position, body straight and close enought to steering wheel you can reach 3/4 of a turn of steering wheel each way, so in most fast driving on track applications is enough. Also I know it's different car but what I found on mine 86 during loosing rear end is just letting go of my steering wheel slightly, slip through hands to kind of self centered itself and avoiding that sudden shift of weight which unsettle a car.
@leedfollow2 ай бұрын
Owning both I can confirm the 86 is far easier and more forgiving when the back end breaks loose. The RX8 is a lot more twitchy and can catch you by surprise if you’re not careful.

This is really exciting. You're building what I've been daydreaming about. I can't wait to watch your progress. I have a couple thoughts though. You mention the need to do a brake upgrade. I know at least some of the BRZ's got the performance package, which provided Brembo brakes. I was wondering if that isn't suitable for your uses, or I guess curious to know more about your intentions regarding brakes. Also, with the need for an upgraded clutch I wonder how that will improve pedal feel. Having owned an FRS, I know it was on the lighter side. The right choice could make for a really nice clutch pedal feel. Can't wait to see what you pick. Looking forward to seeing what you get into, and I really appreciate the level of detail you are going into.

Probably isn’t going to be a setting. The reverse switching is usually voltage controlled. Did you run the 12v feed from the back of the reverse light to the reverse trigger cable on the headunit? This is the issue that I had and I mentioned it in my video at the 8min mark. You need to supply 12v to the reverse trigger to tell the headunit you have put the car into reverse. Easiest way to do that is take power from the back of the reversing light.
