@@a380sanm first of all, thanks for the support! In Airbus terminology, TOGA means Takeoff/Go Around thrust and is the highest power setting there is, except for some of the older American standard 321s which have a bump setting.

I lived in San Diego for about ten years in the 70's after discharge from the Navy. I'm always trying to identify landmarks in these vids. Sometimes I can spot my duty station (Naval Hospital Balboa).

@ correct, that would be a 27K rated engine, this one (as for all 737-700s Alaska has) is derated to 24K so this was the full power for this engine. Thanks so much for knowing that I have another one on my channel, your support means a lot to me. Thank you!!!

@@aemadix not that much, we were heavy and there were thin conditions so taking off wasn’t very easy. Had this been out of KSNA where the RTOW is usually around 151,000lbs, then yes the acceleration would’ve been awesome.

Here is how I would do it. Successful Retired from United Airlines and upgraded to a better paying position at American Airlines. I would work towards a United Airlines 1K, buy a first class ticket on any non American Airlines carrier, or else I will list pass travel if first class is sold out on both American Airlines and United Airlines.

Sadly. You can't get into first class on a revenue, premier status nor United Airlines mainline pass travel on an incentive pass. On any north American trans continent USA/Canada/Mexico and Caribbeans you have to buy a confirmed first class or business class.

@ none of air Canada’s planes have ever had IAE engines. I get why you may think that because of the higher pitched engines than most CFMs but this is another type of CFM that is rarer. It’s not worth arguing with me anymore about this because they’re just not IAEs.

@@daniellewis762 this one was slightly derated, but I get so many TO/GA takeoffs because I hunt for them! I go to airports with short runways and heavy aircraft and in the summertime, hot weather. I have some insane TOGA takeoffs coming soon!

Skiathos Airport in Greece has a runway length of 1628 meters (5341 feet). Boeing 737-800 can operate flights from Skiathos lasting 3-3.5 hours with 60-70% passenger load, but Chuuk Island's tropical climate, with its intense heat and humidity, makes takeoff from its short runway even more challenging for aircraft due to reduced engine performance.

@ in some cases on the 737, the required climb thrust is lower than the required takeoff thrust, so at a certain height (different for each airlines) the auto throttle changes the N1 from takeoff to climb thrust.
