The ID-9 has six buttons inside (you lift off part of the top of the droid) so you can record phrases or sounds that play when you press the matching button on the wrist device. This replicates what Seventh Sister’s ID-9 did when it recorded Ezra and replayed it later. Also, when you lift off the panel there is a dial post that you can rotate to change the pitch of its “voice” to very high or very deep, so it can sound more droid like or more true to what you record. The droid is relatively secure when you wear it so long as you don’t make extreme movements or turn your face into it and knock it off (I did that once).

Gosh, I'm not sure. It has a lot more stuff inside, so it probably does sit a little more firmly on the head, but overall size is similar!

Appreciate you saying that! A lot of people really love this helmet but I just can't get over that battery panel... it's right there... so big and so unnecessary! I try to find the positive, which I did with this piece, but I can't ignore what I think it's giant avoidable error!

Thanks so much! The music is from a place where you can pay for the licenses, but I think a lot of it is heavily inspired by Star Wars. Also, I saw that you commented on my MYC shuttle piece, but when I went to reply, I couldn't find the comment. Did you get that sorted? If not, Really make sure everything is very tight, don't be afraid to push a little, also try flipping the rod upside down as occasionally this gets labeled incorrectly.

@@StarWarsCollected Yeah I finally figured out the lighting problem. I took it apart and flipped the rod, just like you mentioned, and that seemed to do the trick. I did have to use a little Vaseline to get the rod to go in the opening cuz it was so tight but it’s all good now 👍 Also, thanks for the music info.

@@StarWarsCollected I got the flight version and what an elegant beauty she is. Will look good displayed next to my Code 3 Darth Vader Tie Fighter, Master Replicas AT-AT & Force Laboratory AT-ST. I just wish I had heard of MYC before they went out of business because they made really nice looking replicas. Unfortunately, the few ships that are on Ebay are crazy expensive. Especially the MYC Tie Fighter which is going for $3000. But i’ll keep an eye out for “deals” (50-100% markup) 😝

@@coolcat6303 Yeah, they are definitely missed! I would have preferred to be buying licensed things instead but no vendor was filling that part of the market. MYC gave collectors what they wanted at a price and volume that was appreciated.

Almost all my helmet stands are minimalist stainless steel paper towel holders. They are available on Amazon for about $12, but I often find them at discount stores like TJMaxx and Marshalls for $6-$9 and pick them up there.

That would really depend on the thickness of the robe I'm afraid. I'm sure you could find another way to attach the droid if the magnet didn't do the trick.

Interesting. I always think of them as such a gimmick that I'd rather they not include them at all. But there are some good voice changers out there, so it could be interesting to see a good helmet maker partner with one of those.

If only the EFX helmet was cheaper!!!! If I could, I would 3D print a Vader helmet for myself because FOR SOME REASON, third parties get the details better that the official ones either don't get AT ALL, or it is UBER EXPENSIVE.

Yeah, getting that finish just perfect for Vader can be a little touch with 3D printed pieces, but I agree the most of the license ones just don't look quite right. Love the EFX one, but wish it was cheaper too.

IGreat review.I bought both figure sets when we went to the California Park and they are great but Ive been waiting for a 1/1 lifesize Dejarik game table to display them on. I thought the new one was it but its only 18 x 3 inches but its functional as a Dejarik game. I think if I display only 3 of these figures on the new board it will look ok.

I know Regal Robot had some tables at one point, but I think hey we're just bistro tables with things printed on top, not an actual 1:1 replica of the table. I'm a little surprised that hasn't been produced by someone at a large scale yet!

Nice opinion. You can't ignore the unnecessary battery panel on the back and how it could have been hidden, or eliminated. I think the market for these Black Series helmets is mostly collectors looking for display pieces, so I think appearance should come before play features. I don't think accidentally snapping the chin strap in backwards when trying to shoot a video invalidates those points.

I looked up whether that paint scheme was carried over into Kenobi, and it looks like at least some element of the multi-tone was part of production used helmet. The original reason for the variations was for filming purposes, to give it contrast, but I've always been a little unclear as to whether his helmet is multi-tone in-universe. Seems like that tends to disappear when depicted in art where a more idealized version tends to be used.

I fixed the ginormous neck piece and the pointy part of the dome. I fixed it by cutting some pieces off and sanding it
