I have read Demons and Spirits of the Land and it's a great book if you're interested in the history and ancient practice of dealing with land spirits but it isn't much about what to actually do nor much info about specifics spirits. Great for study but not for practical practice unless you like coming up with your own rituals and connections. But it really is a must read if you're serious about working with spirits in general since the first thing you want to do is get to know the local spirits of the land.

When I was in the US Marines in back the the 1990s, I knew a lot of guys into Wicca, and who were magick practitioners. I was an atheist then, having left my LCMS upbringing behind. Pagans are in the most unexpected places! My own pagan journey was a long one, myself having come to polytheism over time this late in life (primarily, though not exclusively Hellenic).

Most aren't as powerful and those who are as powerful don't know how to control that power or protect that power. Do whatever you want but be careful. If you have any negative or uncomfortable feelings crop up, especially in your throat or the area around your throat and upper chest, push away from the mirror, break the connection. Other than that, have fun.

I have the same problem as you, just in reverse. I live in a desert where summer means scorching, dry heat and no one wants to be outside. So the summer solstice as this celebration of life and fertility when my surroundings are like a preheating oven and the longer the sun stays out the more dangerous going outside is, feels… incongruent lol. Still trying to decide if I want to celebrate the summer solstice at all

I really appreciated the tone of this video! My own celebrations this year have been so off, and it's been throwing me for a loop. This Litha I had all these ideas in mind, then plans shifted and I was unable to dedicate much time at all to prepping, then suddenly it was the morning of Litha and I was exhausted and not feeling up to any sort of energy workings. I'm still learning a lot about the practice, so I actually didn't know until you said it here that sabbats can be a season rather than a specific single day! I feel a lot of pressure to celebrate at just the right time, so it's very nice to hear that there is a bit more of an energetic window to work with. Thanks again for this video!

I made a box focused on money, prosperity and success, and charged it over the last waxing phase. It charged under the full moon on Solstice day as well. It has started to manifest quickly, just days after I made it. But when I opened it to reevaluate, I saw one of the ingredients with some mould on it. It was orange peel that I dried at home in the oven. I reckon it probably didn't dehydrate completely. I immediately removed all traces of it, threw it out of my property, put some more dry ingredients in the box to repel any moisture and put it away until after the next new moon. My first thought was mould = bad = dismantle it all. But honestly the spell is manifesting so fast... And the mould only appeared on the one not-so-dry ingredient. It was not all over the box. So it doesn't seem to be a spiritual sign, just a mundane inconvenience. I hope now since I already took care of it, the spell will continue to manifest as strongly as it did initially. I intend to keep working with this box for a very long time. If only one round of charging already worked so well, imagine how powerful it'll be after years of charging! Long story short: be extra careful with orange peel in container spells bc it probably will grow mould real fast 😅

I went to prep my garden this spring and found several plants growing wild. I let them grow to see what they were. One of them is mugwort and it's now about 5 feet tall!
