I was a dependant living at Loring as a early teenager. It was Great for it's facilities and outdoor opportunities. We had a fishing lake, ski slope, theater, teen club, gym. ,swimming pool, PX all within walking distance from base housing. Oh we also had mosquitos and deer flys.😊

I just went to that smaller mine today! Crazy how much it has changed and sad to see it has been vandalized pretty good but still there. People love their guns in this area…Someone pushed that big rusty circular-what looks like a big fuel tank into the creek below…I was planning on going to Big Reef but I either went too far down and went on this path instead or didn’t go down down hot springs road far enough(I’m sure you guys can help me out!) but after seeing this video and how close I was to the Anderson mill, I’m going back out there tomorrow! From where the drone started showing that unknown mine, there was an abandoned truck bed camper just up the hill. Where is the Anderson mill from where the drone started flying/showing that white truck bed camper?

I just recently discovered your channel…maybe a week ago! Went through your 16(?) part build with much interest and enjoyment! I just this past November bought my 2004 WY…20 yrs old like your ‘94 was when you bought it! I was fortunate in that it had only 103k miles and the icing on the cake was that all 20 yrs of service maintenance records were on hand and all done by the dealership! It was much nicer than what I was looking for! Anyway…I must say i thoroughly enjoyed your build and have similar plans for my WJ. Just finished your 3 part journey through the Kody area and anxious to now watch some of your other trips! So glad you’ve kept that ZJ after all these years and upgrades!!! Thank you for your channel!!👍👍

well id tell you but it is really for those i know it has a big white X on it, private, invite only, i used to let people just fly in but they got to be know it alls, had a few young punks try to tell me how to run it lol i said when you are real pilots and have some real money i might listen to you, i fly my beech turbine in with no problems.oncei get to know someone i have no problem letting them visit, right now you couldnt land here im too lazy to blow off the runwaylike 5 ft of snow on it and no youtubers are allowed not making money off of me lol my helipad is fine but i use it a lot, come spring things start to get back to normal,i guess you could call this place a private resort. we all get together for dinner and breakfast, and hangout in the hanger to play with the old planes i have here,a few warbirds, and old beaver, one is a amphib and one on wheels, rarely flown, 2 years ago a young youtuber crashed his lil piper cub into the trees trying to get a better selfie lol plane was totaled but he walked away, was trailerd out of here, told him to not come back

Hi. Nice video. The Hudgin’s who you mentioned are still in Arizona and have many photos and information on the Grand Canyon Airport (that was the name for many years) I’m a nephew and spent many summers there living in the lodge. My first job as a nine year old in aviation was to drive a Model A flatbed truck and pick up rocks off the runways. 🙂

id love to buy it and restore it, i did that with a old airport in idaho 25 years ago, i love aviation history, i live on my airport, sometimes ideas are great then the pandemic hit, the new resturant had to close now it is open pretty remote so not a lot of customers, i close it in winter, the cabins are rented out in the spring thru the 1st snow, the airport was built originally in the mid 30's then when ww2 hit it became a training base, sits on 250 acres of some of the most beautiful forest and streams with lots of trout, we do not do airshows so dont ask,no private hanger rentals. there is a mechanic on duty in the open months, mainly retired people, lots of wildlife so landing came be a thrill if the bears are around or elk and deer, it is private property so no hunters are allowed, tv parking is limited,no long stays no matter what, maximum stayis 5 days, and no extensions, there is also dog kennels at each tv park site, animals must be contained, new ads will be coming out this spring in barnstormers and flying magazine this spring, there is also tent caming for aircraft owners only, also a maximum stay or 5 days and cleanup your mess, or we go to old west laws, hangings at noon, it is what you would expect from a old airport, there are 2 old concrete runways, which are being redone this spring, if your motorhome breaks down here it will be towed at your expense to boise,. no loud parties, people come here to relax not hear your music, look for ads this spring in barnstormers and flying magazine this spring

So many things to see in KOFA. Had you been provided the time perhaps you would have included them. Glad the situation with you jeep was resolved. It pays to be a novice shade tree mechanic. Something I liked when I drove a ‘78 Datsun mini truck. With my current ‘19 JL I severely lack the skill to be a shade tree mechanic. Glad you and your companion had a great trip. Thanks for sharing.

Been on the trails you highlighted today. Surprised you did not mention Skull Rock. Oh, wait. next episode you will show Palm Canyon, perhaps I spoke too soon. When I went to KOFA Monument, there was a running spring in the wash nearby. Saw tracks of desert sheep, or I think they were desert sheep. Thanks for sharing.
