After cleaning and drying the parts, before assembly, I always use a bit of vaseline for the rubber seals

My problem is that fitting Miele Hepa filters is not that simple. They do not simply click into place.

Watches 1 minute and 31 seconds to see the suction test. Did the same test to mine and had no suction. Saw that some gasket down by the motor head end was slightly popped off and put it back on, eureka! Thanks dude! I really like this vacuum and didn't want to get rid of it. Would've been a HUGE mistake for such a simple fix!

I just bought this model at Goodwill for $20 and got it home and after 30 secondes of running the brush on carpet it started ratcheting and I thought I picked up a hair pin or screw or something....gonna take mine apart and check this..!! Great video Alec..!!

You managed the tricky bit with ease. I can t even buy a small enough circlip plier to get that tiny circlip out .two narrow screwdivers did it and you got it back on again with ease..You do know how to fix things !

oh my gosh thank you! You just saved us a ton of money. The main filter was absolutely clogged and the same for a second filter I never even knew was there. It hasn't had this much power since we bought it twenty years ago!

I am familiar with turbine brushes spinning slowly and trapped hair but on my DC08 Animal, the turbine brush spins uncontrollably fast. Subsequently it does not pick up litter but just throws dirt around. Does anybody have any fix suggestions for this?

Have you ever had the rotating brush in the head apart? Mine has stopped working? I’m wanting to split the black housing so I can look at why the brush as it isn’t spinning. I can’t slide the housing apart as I can’t remove the small cast aluminum gear-thingys. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Useless video. The crucial step I could not do is not shown as you have your hand over the cover plate. I only need to know how to get the cover plate off after removing the screw.
@bobbymack44212Ай бұрын
It looked like he simply twisted it counterclockwise to free up the cover plate. I appreciated his simple, straightforward approach.

Thank you so much for making this video! I have a dc07 that I replaced the clutch assembly on because it literally melted. When I did this repair I was completely unaware of the bearings in the roller. I started having similar issues with the roller about a year after the repair. Thank goodness I found this video because I almost ruined my new clutch assembly! There was a nest of hair around the pin that goes through the bearings. Luckily there was no hair in the bearings. I cleaned out the hair and reassembled the brush but it wouldn’t turn freely. So I put a couple drops of skateboard bearing lube in the bearings and brought them back to life in only a few minutes. Now it works perfectly and I won’t have to replace the clutch assembly again!!! I can’t thank you enough.

Thank you so much for this video. Our dyson which is a little newer then the one in the video stopped picking up. After checking all the parts as per your video I found the suction pipe (at the bottom of the machine) had come loose and pushed itself into the corner. After pulling it out and re fitting it the machine was cleaning with power once more. Thanks!
