Jeez, I had no idea my miele had a second filter hidden by the bag! Not sure that thing has been replaced in well over 10 years since before I left home! So good to have decent suction on it again. Saves me buying a whole new machine like. Cheers for this! HUGE help!

oh my gosh thank you! You just saved us a ton of money. The main filter was absolutely clogged and the same for a second filter I never even knew was there. It hasn't had this much power since we bought it twenty years ago!

Thank you SO MUCH, this worked perfectly for my S4510. Turns out it was the off-brand bag I was using. It was about 1/3 full, but I replaced it anyway and it's back to working order. I'm off to order proper brand bags now. thanks again!

Thanks mate! I replaced my filter on my Miele S762. I had almost no suction, my filters "looked" relatively clean. But I switched them and "voila" it was ten times stronger air flow.

Hi Alex, from the UK. Our Miele stopped sucking after a constant period of using (for about and hour) on a very dirty carpet.The motor is working, but no suction. I have changed all the filters bit still no suction. what next?

NO .... if you want me to believe you are doing anything other than trying to sell filters unnecessarily you need to turn the machine on with the used filter in and show the suction indicator, and then change to a new one and show the improvement. That is what a real video would do.

The local salesman here in CA, USA wanted to convince me to buy a new HEPA filter ... for almost $100. These guys just want to sell as many filters as possible.

No need for a HEPA filter. Simply purchase the spacer bracket for your particular model (~$20), and you can then use the free AirClean filter that comes with each box of dustbags.

Definitely last a bit longer than a year but the free air clean filter with the bags is more than adequate so you just need to get a cartridge to use it with. The hepa filter is about £15 in the uk!

The area where the bag goes looks dirty. I have an Miele s5 and that area always looks clean in my vacuum. There is some leaking going on in that vacuum. Suction loss can also be caused my a blockage in the hose. I vacuumed up a piece of small plastic from a chair leg that got stuck then started to accumulate dirt until it finally clogged. I had to use some springs from an old chest expander exerciser to clear it out.

I have a miele with a HEPA filter. Mine gets used mainly on the weekends, and sometimes on weekdays. How often should I change the filter? Is it ok if I use the air clean and HEPA together? I did that.

Never use both filters together, you'll overheat the motor and it'll burn out. And yeah, change the hepa once a year
