Idk if I’d say the AMGs get beat up, just depends if it was taken care of ie carfax etc. also, AMG or not, you’ll want a warranty or you’ll be paying way over what you paid for the car
@theoegarageКүн бұрын
There’s definitely clean examples out there, I just tend to follow that mentality anytime there is a “performance” package of a chassis. It’s like a Hellcat variant vs a 392, the performance packages just tend to get used more. The CLS550 could easily be an older owner who is just looking for a classy daily and doesn’t want the show of the AMG (which is what the previous owner paperwork on mine tells me.) As far as warranty, I’m in it on the deep end 😂 no warranty but this car has higher mileage with tons of Mercedes dealer service records so that’s a plus

Blown coolant pipe squad 😂🙏 Oof sorry about the bad luck man, not a great start. Totally understand whatcha mean about the other car laughing, our camry must be like wtf are yall doing 😂 Our issue with the coolant pipe also has us in full PTSD everytime we drive it, but honestly our e550 just rides so good we are settling back into it. The transmission def is the "let down" point, but I totally get what it's for. It's a total highway cruiser, not aggressive poweband, just smooth power. It's so different than our audi, another boat! That thing is aggressiveee. I heard the tune definitely makes the shifting a lot more aggressive though, maybe more enjoyable then. Cheers to 2025 and hopefully no more issues!
@theoegarageКүн бұрын
The good news is it feels a little better knowing I’m not alone regarding the coolant pipe lol. I’m wondering if it is possible to at least have more control over the transmission in manual mode. I got the feeling that I really wasn’t going to be able to ride out many gears in a track setting for instance
@sinisterls4Күн бұрын
@theoegarage Yeah man it's like you said, the paddles are pretty much useless, I don't even use them. I have notices it's a lot better in "sport" mode, holds the revs a lot higher for a lot longer. Plus the little slight v8 pops and burbles as you let off makes me feel childish giggles haha!

2011 Audi a6 with the 3.0t was great had it for a year no issues bought it with 50k put 20k miles on it always changed the oil every 3,000 got new tires for it treated it nice wasn’t even tuned and it had a deadly timing issue at around 70k miles and it’s unfortunately dead now the motor cost more than I paid for it rip

No problem, a bit of a lesson learned - the market for trailers goes up and down like crazy. For what I have into this so far parts wise, I could have bought a functional car trailer in 2024. Prices seemed to cut in half between 2022-2024.

This is awesome, I want the rumble but not the bull shit of a turbocharged engine. With a 5 speed, it could be really fun!! I have a 2.5L in my Outback with EL headers. I have a cat back exhaust and that's it. I have almost 216,000 miles on my car and almost 44,000 miles on the block alone. I have this car for 64,000 miles yet. I don't think its worth it to do another timing belt but I would like to get 64000 miles out of the car. So that would bring me to 280,000 to make the decision. I only do 5000 miles a year, so that's three to five years at this point of mild use. If I was keeping this car for 10 years, I would throw UEL's on it and give it a rattle can paint job. I just think it would be a wise decision to get a smaller Subi like this with lower miles before head gasket issues so I can fix it vs wondering if it was really done or not. I want the same exact car and color or a Forester the same year. Honestly I think if car prices are that wacked out over all. Especially five years from now, It would probably be worth it to put a timing belt on my OBW or even put a new engine in it and pick up one of these with lower miles on it. Just because Trump is in now doesn't mean shit. The wall came down in 91 cold war started in 47. Just keep that in mind!!

Keeps heat in the intercooler and prevents intercooler icing on MK6 TDIs

You live somewhere very cold then🤣 Never saw this done cause we don’t get that cold here in Germany😬
@theoegarageАй бұрын
In the US market there is accruals a VW TSB for this - your emissions standards might be different and the actual issue starts with the EGR putting hot air into the intercooler. Then that creates condensation, and you can see where the rest goes
