Water is bad friend with the wood. Overt time, all the exposed plywood edges will rotten in the shower. Also the water will likely leak underneath the screws into the plywood holes. Our camper shower door leaks water out. I think that's the challenge with the door opening to the outside. I had to install small silicone gutters guiding the water away from the gaps around the door. It is not 100%, but it is better than without it.

Great progress on the truck it's looking beautiful if I may make a suggestion I agree with you using loctite however I would use blue loctite instead of red red you have to cut off blue will keep it tight but with some arm strength you can undo it just in case once again project looks great

Again, fantastic build! Just a small point: might it be possible that that the gas flames of the Thetford are too close to the wall if there would be a big pot or pan on the stove? Maybe wise to install a heat protection layer? Hard to judge on the video! Good luck with the next steps!!!

I got to give you credit cutting and fitting pieces with 1 to 2 mm to spare is very stressful and time-consuming have you thought about expansion and contraction what is the temperature when you install it you drive to a very hot spot down the bumpy road hopefully everything doesn't crack😢 however your build is looking fantastic can't wait to see your next video

It's a bit late now to tell you to wear a mask when cutting the panels. It's going well keep it up and you'll soon be on yer travels.
@CG-9912 күн бұрын
Maybe a good idea to wear a mask when cutting solid surface benchtops - if your clothes are covered in dust, so are the linings of your lungs. That dust is lethal.

Reminds me of grand designs. Budget woefully inadequate, work beyond normal ability, time scales ridiculously short and stress all round. On the bright side, they normally end up being successful, so keep it going!! Looking forward to the adventures next year.

Hi Izzy and Phil, we're so glad you're back, we've missed your videos but totally under you just wanting to get on and not have to stop all the time and film. We converted our van over 2 years ago and spent every spare minute we had on the conversion, it's hard going although my husband said he'd do it again in a heartbeat...I'm not so sure😂 We're in the middle of selling our house to take a grey grown up gap year ....or two which is a scary but exciting prospect. Your videos helped cement that we can do this even in our 50s. Anyway, great to have you back, can't wait to see it finished x

I’ve been following your story for three years and I greatly admire you both for your energy, creativity and zest for life and adventure. I hope that 2025 provides a new impetus to your nomadic lifestyle and that you enjoy your endeavours of the past year building your incredible home on wheels.

Had a giggle at the fridge vs door scenario. I had to take the door seal off to gain a couple of mm to get my fridge through!
@Dandy-Offroad18 күн бұрын
This will be a fantastic Truck!!! Just a small remark: there are fans available which are closing if the ventilation is switched off (either manual or based on a temperature controller). This is useful in dusty environment like gravel roads, desert or simply dirty roads. The open blinds also might allow insects to enter the cabin.

Hi ya. before you said you need a Holiday, i said to my wife, hes looking weary, more Grey hair and poorer - They need a break from it all - and then you fly to Croatia. you just need some time to clear your head of what you have to do, mesurements and so on- come back with a clear head. Great

Hi, we watched your vlog on this loo as we were having a narrowboat built and wanted to go down the path of the separator/composting loo. After having watched it a few times (by the way excellent review) and especially as you decided to have another one in your new truck we decided on the separate tiny. We have now been on the boat and using this loo for around 6 weeks. As a woman I find it really difficult to ‘separate’ but that is something I can get around. My issue is this, being on the canals and next to the tow path I can empty the urine very easily but am a little dubious about going into towns as there are no hedges. I was really surprised the between the 2 of us we can easily fill the container in a day. How do you go about it or have you bought another container?
@TheGapDecaders21 күн бұрын
Hi there thanks for the feedback! We empty the pee container every morning. We usually camp off-grid away from towns in Europe but wheren we are in built up areas, we empty discreetly. The chances of anyone knowing what' in the container are minimal. You could empty in a public loo or down any drain. I suspect it's easier in Europe than the Uk though.
