Glad you both enjoyAlbania more- I’ve not been so I could not say if it’s a north south thing - perhaps others who have will comment. The waters looked so blue and inviting and it’s great to hear more from Izzy . Also thank you for sharing the border experience as you know we are in the same situation- I married Paul just for the same reason 🤣

Hi both, when watching your videos it always strikes me how slick and professional the footage and editing is. I have often wondered which drone you have so seeing as it featured it looks to me to be a DJI Mini 2, is that right? If it is a Mini 2 I must say you capture some fantastic imagery with it. Are you self taught with the various cameras and editing? You really do a fantastic job. I think it would make a brilliant video if you were to show how you capture your imagery and the equipment you use. I often think of the effort you go to to set up a camera on a tripod and then either walk or drive away and then stop to retrieve it. The production is so seamless and content varied and interesting every video is a joy to watch.

Hi Dave, I'm sat here after a days editing with a glass of red, beaming 😀 as I read this🍷 It's rare to receive any recognition, so your positive feedback is so incredibly welcomed, thank you so much. I started the channel 21 months ago with zero videography, editing or KZbin knowledge and needless to say it's been a steep learning curve. I had an old GoPro and DJI Mavic Air which I used for the odd image or faffing about, and I still use the most basic editing suite, iMovie. I'm not a techie kinda guy so KZbin tutorials were my go-to for everything. After drowning my second drone and with the change in Drone laws across Europe, I decided to stick with something under 250g, hence the DJI Mini 2. Re: set up and capturing material, Izzy's laughing and says "if you only knew". We've had a few barneys over my continuous desire to stop, set up, run back, set up a different camera angle, and argue as I drive and operate the drone on a challenging track. It's hard to imagine (for those who don't video edit) quite how much time it takes to create a e.g. 20 minute video, I love the idea of making a video showcasing what it takes. It might well be a challenge for early next year in between the new truck build. In saying all of that, I think something needs to change, the niche is small and even using all the SEO and Tubebuddy tools, the channel's grown slowly. But for now, thanks Dave, you've made my night 🙏🍷😀
@daveroberts-bridgnorth Жыл бұрын
Dear Izzy, if you buy Phil a DJI MIni 4 Pro he could get it to follow the truck whilst keeping both his hands on the steering wheel. It also has anti crash sensors. Just think of the increased peace of mind you will have. 😅 Phil, I too have crashed a Mini 2 perhaps we can exchange stories at some time! Once again I love your work, I hope you enjoyed the 🍷

Fantastic videos, always look forward to the next one. Just looking for the right truck to do our own build. What mpg does Tonya do on average please?
@TheGapDecaders Жыл бұрын
Hi Bob, thank you and appreciate you saying. We average about 15/16mpg, we tend not to exceed 80kph on good roads, and obviously any time spent on mountain roads and sand/desert conditions greatly reduces that mpg figure (closer to 12) Good luck with the search. 👍🏻😀

Hi when using your Irish passport do both passports get stamped? Also I’ve been told that you should take your marriage certificate or proof you live together such as bank statement or council tax bill as proof you actually reside together. I’m in the process of obtaining my Irish passport and was just curious as I will hopefully be travelling with my Husband who has a U.k passport. Thanks for your time Debbie
@TheGapDecaders Жыл бұрын
Hi Debbie it depends on the country! Some don't stamp Phil's Irish passport, but mine is always stamped, and if they don't I ask them to. This is because if I even need/want to travel solo or head back to the UK without Phil, I need the evenidence of my Schengen ins and outs. We do carry our marriage certificate and printed copies of the legislation in various langauages, but have never had to use either (and I use my maiden name officially, so our passports have different surnames). Hope that helps :) Izzy

Hi you two,was wondering about the insurance. Is the insurance more expensive for the truck compare to the a car?
@veselkadogcoats692 Жыл бұрын
Its not likely any boarder crossing would care about how long you have been in the EU. The same goes for such rules like displaing a UK sign and not bringing in certain food. We travelled through numerous boarders ...the biggest check has always been a little peek inside thats it. The only thing that is strict is having the V5 in your name and a passport.
@TheGapDecaders Жыл бұрын
Having a V5, Driving License and V5 is indeed essential. They (Border officials) do very much care about how long non-Schengen residents stay (or overstay), we've been challenged a number of times and held in Calais for 90 minutes before proving Izzy had the right to travel with me under the EU legislation, using my Irish passport.
@veselkadogcoats692 Жыл бұрын
@@TheGapDecaders But it's like displaying the UK sticker many will say that's a big deal but hardly anyone will ever be stopped for a minor infringement like that. Same applies for food rules it's probably a million to 1 that a boarder official would check for food.
@dollysdiary160 Жыл бұрын
We love following your travels in Europe and realise we must follow in your footsteps once we’ve finished in the Americas. You mentioned the rule of being able to stay longer than the 90 days of married to an EU citizen, but what I found on Google suggests that it only applies in the home country (ie. Ireland). Any chance you could post a link to the relevant legislation please - it would be a game changer for us….. thanks.
@TheGapDecaders Жыл бұрын
Hi there this is the legislation you want eur-lex.europa.eu/EN/legal-content/summary/eu-freedom-of-movement-and-residence.html. I spent a lot of time talking directly with the EU - it definitely applies scrips the whole bloc :)
