is there something inherently wrong with these things? A relative's 2006 has needed an alternator, blower motor + resistor this summer, all of which have been replaced before our ownership. Have this p0446 code now, of which the pressure sensor has also been replaced at some point already. Are these parts suppliers making junk parts? Does the truck just eat them?

@drfrisker in my opinion I believe it's just being aftermarket parts. If you go OEM less chances of going bad.

I got p0500 code, lost rpms, speedometer , fuel gauge, and odometer. The battery got killed shortly after. Replaced battery and found a 6 amp draw with ignition off, key removed. When i remove the "dome" fuse or the entire cluster assembly, the amps drop back to normal (0.050A or 50mA). I tried replacing with 2 different known working used cluster units, same result. Could the VSS or the ECM be causing this drain? I know this cluster is connected to those, among other things.

@danielmarquez8315 i believe it'll work if it's from the same vehicle, but you'll get a code of a VIN mismatch. On some vehicles, programming/adaption makes the transmission function properly with smooth shifting.

@elitemobileautoelectric77828 ай бұрын

Thanks for the video, just want to make sure I understood correctly..... Which was the solution? change the purge valve? I have a chevy cruze 2015 with the same codes and I did the following in the purge valve: 1. Remove the connection to the manifold and try to blow air but it was sealed. 2. Suck air through the valve and air was passing, I even tasted the evap gases. Based on this, it shouldn't let air pass through the valve since in normally close. Are these steps enough to guarantee that the purge valve must be changed? Thank you so much
@elitemobileautoelectric77828 ай бұрын
For the most part the valves are stay close. When there is voltage applied at the valve you should have air flow. You suck on the direction where I unplugged close the intake. If there is air flow the valve is faulty. Normal state on this is closed.

Having the same problem but doesn't have a battery in the trunk. What could be the problem? 2015 chevy impala 3.6 v6 with 25,000. Shows on the dash 14.5 to 15 charging while driving but Dies over night with a new battery. When shut off it will show 12.3 down 11.9 or less. Change the alternator? Was told that can be the problem. Don't wanna put new parts on if it isn't the problem. What do u think about this?
@elitemobileautoelectric778210 ай бұрын
Idk why a lot of people recommend the alternator when like 98% of the time is never that. Well in my experience. It does sound like it’s a parasitic draw. Only way to find out is a diag. Using a voltmeter in series to the battery and see what fuse is pulling the most amp draw. Remember to close the doors and switches so the car goes to sleep when doing this diag.

@elitemobileautoelectric778210 ай бұрын
In this case I didn’t disconnected the battery terminal, I had full power and turned the truck on with the airbag still connected. Once I aligned the steering then I unplug the airbag and moved fwd. Anyone inexperienced should disconnect the battery and turn the ign in the on position. The steering wheel will be hard to move unless if it’s lifted from the front. Then the steering will be soft to turn. Hope this helps

2015 Impala 2.5 as well. I had a no start at the gas station and had to have my car jumped. When I did it through a p305f code dual-battery module performance. I replaced the rear battery and main battery tests good, and still had battery drain. I replaced that battery control module on top of the battery and that also did not fix the issue with the parasitic draw. But I no longer get the p305f code that I was getting. I guess I will have to figure out a way to test like you are testing to see if that fixes it. For now I ride around with a portable jump box to start the car when it's dead
