The Mini 4 Pro can follow from behind or from the side. And then it has an 'auto' mode where it will decide on its own to follow from behind, side or front. Fascinating. It has obstacle avoidance so it will avoid obstructions. But its best on clear paths so it won't get lost behind trees.

Ok, the early reviews are in and they are not good. Biggest weaknesses: 1) Wind resistance is not good. They claim 23mph wind but anything over 15mph, the video footage becomes quite shaky. This likely due to the propeller guards' big surface catching the wind. Better than the Neo but nowhere near the Mini 4 Pro. 2) Obstacle avoidance is forward only lidar and it does not work well. 3) It is loud still. It's nowhere near the stealth of the Mini4 Pro despite the large propellers spinning at a lower RPM than the Neo.

Yes, but it is a cropped image from the sensor, like the DJI NEO. The camera does not rotate.

It's kind of a big structure and sub 250 grams so it reminds me of a dragonfly. But the wind rating is the same as the Mini 4 Pro at 23mph so it can handle the wind. These big blades will really give stability and quiet operation IMHO.

Surprised me as well. I'm sure that was a weight issue. 250 grams is a hard stop and features had to be dropped. Propeller guards on a high end drone seemed to be the directive

2-axis stabilization. They are probably doing digital stabilization on the third axis. The Neo only has 1-axis stabilization and it is impressive.

dji should release a new dji neo that has a crash sensor instead of the dji flip which may not be as successful as the dji neo.

What will the crash sensor do exactly? We hear the Neo 2 will be released around Fall of 2025. This Flip release shows the importance of powerful drones with covered propellers. The Flip will have Neo usability but will have much better photos and video. It will quieter, faster, with better range. Hopefully, it will track even better.

One thing I use my Mini 4 Pro for is Vlogging. I have my DJI Mic on me, and because the noise level is so low, it does not destroy my audio recording. I would imagine doing a Vlog video with a Neo that due to its noise level and pitch, the audio recording would pick it up.

Exactly, Neo is much louder. How they address is this is by flying with the phone and using the phone's microphone to capture audio. Then then use their 'Neo Audio filter' to tune out the prop noise of the Neo.

Watch out flying over big waves that are closing out. The air trapped in the curl breaks through the top sometimes shooting a burst of air and water up in the air. It's strong enough to take a drone out of the air.

Excellent video! Thanks for putting this together - great work! I have a Neo and it’s brilliant. Just wish the camera was a bit better on it. I don’t have a controller so can’t change the sharpness… have messaged DJI support - hopefully that’ll come in a firmware update. Amazing drone for the money though, Im reallyimpressed with it

you can do a drone record and a screen record and use the DJI mic for sound input and then sync up the sound when you make your video.

Yes, the range is not a problem even with antennas folded and inside a backpack. It is important though that the sticks are not moved. So a trick is to remove the sticks when putting in the backpack.

Have you tried flying with the motion controller in low light to dark condition? If not try it but do it inside because you could lose your drone.

@ Be careful because even with the GPS signal in very low light using the motion controller if it will go crazy and you may lose it. GPS doesn’t seem to matter its a programming error.
