Really appreciate your content. It's interesting you're doing so much work to find a D-box - around here (New England) we have to submit a drawn plan with all measurements on it to town before it's accepted. And yes, on site "adjustments" happen after a plan is accepted, but the plans will usually get you within a foot or so.

Keep a close eye on kids and pets. I had a yowling mountain lion in heat hanging around my house last spring. 75' below my house. It came in the middle of the night and screamed, it was screaming at noon too, i got a good look at it then chased it off. Too darn close to the house, and i wasn't keen on her fellows showing up and wanting to hang out too.

It's a nice looking job and you did great, but I'm confused as to why he would want drain rock for his driveway. There are no fines in it and its not going to compact very good. Hes going to see ruts in it from driving and turning. It's going to take a lot of raking to keep that driveway looking nice.
@sonomalandworksАй бұрын
I agree the drain rock will move around a little, but it provides a cleaner surface during the rainy winter months. It is a good choice for areas or pathways just outside of a home for those that are walking in and out of their house. It helps to keep this rock layer thin. Thanks for watching!

Tank will be nice and tight with you working the gravel into the grooves of the tank. Dirt will work into it and make it solid. Roth tanks are great tanks thick as hell

@sonomalandworks2 ай бұрын
I am not sure why either. It has been an industry standard in our area. I have used PVC sch 40 DWV which works great as well. Do you install septics in California? Thanks for watching!

What a complex septic system for an ADU, is it common to have such a system there in California?
@sonomalandworks2 ай бұрын
The mound system was sized for 5 bedrooms but will only be connected to an ADU in the near future. Mound systems are very common in high groundwater areas and where there is shallow suitable soil. Otherwise an At-grade or drip system is an option with shallow soils and or high ground water. Thanks for watching!

It’s great to see how you’re making steady progress with the septic installation and sand mound! Excellent work on setting the tanks and handling all the details. Looking forward to the next part!

Is that a California thing or a new thing just for a septic?
@sonomalandworksАй бұрын
Wisconsin mound systems have been around for a while. I am not sure how many other states use this design. The idea is that the effluent will receive treatment in the sand layer prior to reaching the groundwater table in high groundwater areas. Thanks for watching!

What a beautiful area. Way more complicated job than way back when Dad just put a 6' cement pipe segment in a hole in the back yard and a bunch of ceramic tile with holes down a ditch he dug in the yard. It has worked continuously for the last 50 years.

I love the background help. I love that guitar and both songs. He should put more music out. Does he have anything on Spotify?
