Wondering why did you not add gravel or geotextile under the inflitrator?

Sometimes we do lay gravel prior to installing the infiltrator and sometimes we backfill to the top of the infiltrator with drain rock and cover the drain rock with filter fabric but I have not seen the filter fabric installed under the infiltrator. The drain rock adds volume for water storage but does add additional labor. This was a tight backyard and we used infiltrator for the sake of reducing labor costs.
