Nmixx always makes me feel like I’m watching artists perform, not just idols. I know idols can be both, but not every group gives off that feeling. If you watch any of their variety stuff like Pick Nmixx or their Mixx Vlogs, you will almost always catch them singing to themselves or with each other. Nmixx randomly bursting out in song is just what Nmixx does. They truly love music and always seem to be working on their craft.

I won't reiterate facts about Ian that others have already posted, but I will say I love how much attention to detail you had. With DPR Ian it is so necessary to be finely tuned in because his music is so PERSONAL to him and has such a strong story and connection to his experience as someone with both a mood disorder and a personality disorder. His music is VULNERABLE in a way that leaves me in awe every time, this is essentially exactly how Ian experiences his world, it gives me chills just thinking about it. He's truly a once in a lifetime artist. I will second that it it would be nice if you watched the saywhatreacts interview with Ian. I think it's a very in depth and eye opening interview in how Ian views himself and his experience with bipolar disorder and DID and how that interacts with his artistry.

shotgun mics, the mics used in the video is shaped like that so it can focus on the audio infront of it, and because it is focusing, it is capturing all the details making it hard to edit for post production. hence why people who use them usually just don't bother editing or in other words they are used for recording raw audio. making the performance just pure raw vocals. nmixx the first gg to perform in tiny desk, and the first idol to perform with those mics. other idols who performed are labeled "Special episode" or something like that.

Piri was my first ever Dreamcatcher song, though I didn't know it at the time, and I LOVED it. It wasn't until I found Scream about a year later and then rediscovered Piri that I realized I'd heard something from them before. Their styling is always amazing. We spend a lot of time on one of the reactor Discords I'm on talking about how cool their styling always is. Especially when you start looking at their concert outfits as well. Once you get through the MVs you should definitely check out the dance videos/practices. Their choreo is very theatrical and supports the story they're telling. The opening for Good Night in particular is really cool. I also had no idea that TT was a "scary" video either! That was interesting. Scream, was my first Dreamcatcher MV, and I was immediately hooked. It popped up in my YT sidebar and the thumbnail with Sua holding the sword in that black dress was enough to get me to click. That was almost 4 years ago and Scream still hits the same way it did on that first viewing. Scream is the first part of their Dystopia trilogy which is all about online bullying, hate speech, and social media. Scream, specifically draws parallels between the witch hunts that used to take place and the witch hunts that happen online. You & I was pretty popular when it dropped and is a lot of peoples favorite title track. It's definitely when they really started to hone in on their sound I think. They do look great in suits, you can search up Suitcatcher (one of their many such nicknames) and you'll find all sorts of videos and pictures of them performing in suits. Deja Vu is considered by many in the fandom to be their masterpiece. Funnily enough, this song was done as a collaboration with a mobile game just like R.o.S.E. Blue. The song and MV itself are about perspective and betrayal. It's a great song and MV and that "holding this pain line" that Handong sings is one of their most iconic lines. The girl on the throne at the end with the look is Yoohyeon. She's also the one who had the Silver hair in You & I. She's the Lead Vocal.

I'd say RoSE BLUE is a quite lucky first pick. Why? Because it's standalone and the story is fairly straight-forward. There are some minor details that are easily missed, such as butterflies representing the soul, Gahyun & JiU being sisters in-game (that's obviously impossible to deduce when just watching the video), and the 5 members representing the 5 stages of grief. The music is also far less complex than typical Dreamcatcher songs, so you don't get distracted by sudden stylistic changes mid-song. Anyway, thanks for a great reaction video!

"Bun girl" is Gahyun, their lead rapper and maknae. She hasn't got that many rap parts though, probably because the main rapper (Dami) is so freakishly good. Instead Gahyun has been working a lot on her vocals and gotten more vocal lines than before. She's also extremely good at facial acting. The entire Dystopia trilogy (Scream, BOCA, Odd Eye) is about cyber bullying. In an ironic twist Gahyun has been the target of cyber bullies multiple times (some told her that the pink hair made her look like a pink rat, she's also been told that she is ugly during several live streams). There is a video clip where she tells the main vocalist (Siyeon) about this. You should check it out and watch Siyeon's reaction. That short clip tells more about Siyeon than any other "This is..." video, in my opinion. "That thing" in Bon Voyage is called Celly, according to SuA. It's supposed to be a cell, I guess to symbolise the life that will restore our planet after the apocalypse. As far as Dreamcatcher's songs go: all of their A-sides have at least some element of rock to them. A few of their B-sides too. But their produces tend to mix in other genres into every song. Their B-sides are very varied (I saw that you have reacted to Propose already, so I guess you got a bit of a taste at least). If you want a sample of their variety I'd go for (only recommending songs with music videos here): * Black or White (check out the showcase version--it might, however, be difficult to react to since it's from a music show--they routinely do copyright takedowns, so maybe react to their normal video and just enjoy the showcase in your own free time?) * Red Sun (I think it could easily have competed for a win at a music show; be sure to check out both the official music video and the webtoon music video) * Sahara (be sure to watch it with subs, be sure to correlate subs with what's on screen; the video is shot entirely on site at a music show, inside the waiting room and outside in the corridor; I believe it's at Inkigayo) * Poison Love (shot entirely in their dance studio) * July 7th * Also, it's a cover, but since you love Dami, I'd definitely also recommend watching their cover of Bang Bang Bang. It's basically Dami flexing her rappping with some support from SuA & Siyeon. You have jumped around quite a bit chronologically, so the storylines are a bit confused (BOCA is the second part of the Dystopia trilogy, Bon Voyage is the third part of the Apocalypse trilogy), but that's no big deal. Fly High is the prequel to the Nightmare series, so seeing it first (instead of Chase Me) is ok, the order of watching between Scream & BOCA isn't really too big of a deal either, and the only thing you need to know about the previous parts of the Apocalypse series to understand Bon Voyage is that the trilogy shows what will happen if we don't get our shit together. Maison is about climate change, Vision is about war, and Bon Voyage shows that without humans messing things up there's a chance for the planet to recover. The way I see it, there are two paths to go to continue reacting: 1.) Watch some more standalones first: I recommend Deja Vu (one of their all-time most popular songs; important hints: it's based on a video game, the story of the MV isn't linear, and there are two perspectives, only one which is true) & BEcause (probably their best music video; important hints: the MV is highly inspired by Jordan Peele's movie Us. The lyrics are not really connected to the MV, and BE is capitalised in the song title because it means sorrow, so the meaning of the title is roughly "The cause of sorrow", which fits nicely into the lyrics). 2.) Do the story lines; if going this path I'd suggest Scream followed by Odd Eye to wrap up the Dystopia trilogy, then going back to the Nightmare series (which is quite long). My recommendation? Do option 1 first, maybe with a sprinkling of B-sides. Now, the important thing, if you want things as spoiler-free as possible: At some point you'll want to know more about the history of the group, I'm sure. There are multiple good guides, but pretty much every guide either spoil music videos or other important events. I typically recommend people to watch all videos up to and including Piri (the last part of the Nightmare series) before watching any guide. After that you should watch: * Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher (this is basically the history of the group) Now you can continue watching everything up to and including BEcause. Then another guide: * The Ultimate 2021/2022 Dreamcatcher Guide 🎠 Welcome to the Dreamworld! (this is more of a guide to the group) Now Maison.
