Ryan has already seen Homelander murder someone and been sucked into going down the road that makes him ACCEPT Homelander's behaviour. Pulling a last ditch "Ryan suddenly has a moral switch" at the end AFTER this is already too late. You would have had more luck bringing Soldier Boy out and hoping you can make peace with him. However, this show has degenerated into dumb plot covered up by shock fests to hide how the characters are just spinning plates on a series that should have ended last season.

I know Homelander can sense people lying because he can see their heart beating and sense their stress level. While Grace is probably a pretty good liar, maybe she isn't a good enough one. i think it's weird that ryan isn't willing to kill his father that raped his mother. but he killed his mother in a weak attempt to save her. like bro is cool with an abusive dad with terrible morals if it means it's the man that ejaculated in his mom causing his birth. a man he barely knows but he's cool with killing a woman that he felt comfortable enough to call aunt. he clearly cares about butcher and knows that his mom loved butcher n not homelander. butcher acts more like a real dad than homelander to him. yet he's uncomfortable killing a man that homelander made him kill, an innocent man. then homelander got mad at him for being upset that he did so. ryan's a kid with a good heart but man he is fucking stupid. his brain is too malleable to deal with these emotions. he's always flip flopping between loving butcher n his mom's beliefs n loving homelander n his belief's.
