I recently bought all the Samson CDs and am blown away by how much great stuff Samson managed to produce after the Polydor years. It’s so great to see this video. Mick sounds awesome.

Saw the great Nicky Moore with Uli Jon Roth at a small club in 1985. Great set of pipes....very powerful and soulful.

Before Earth Mother, Thunderstick pours a bottle of water over his head, then throws it out to the crowd LOL!!!

Thunderstick gets a proper metal cage this time unlike the wobbly plastic one at Reading.

Samson will remain an eternally good B group. 🙁 The problem for me is that it lacks power and a second guitarist would have boosted this simple and pleasant music to listen to. As for Nicky Moore, his place would have been better suited in a southern Hard Rock group like Molly Hatchet or 38 Special. 🤘

I haven't heard from him for a few years. We used to speak regularly, he had some illness and then didn't respond to messages. Sadly, I fear the worst..

I'm an age old Samson fan and I thought I'd heard it all, but this is something else. Really tight as another poster said, but just overall great playing from everyone. Paul's playing is just very smashing indeed. This vocalist (on the face of this 'limited' recording) sounds even closer to Gillan than even Mr "I'd very much like to be Ian Gillan" Bruce. Love it.

I personally prefer Peter Scallan as their vocalist during this period (as heard on Refugee in 1990) but Mick is a great singer! I’d recommend his work with the band First Strike
