Moral of the story. Don’t erase history because everything has consequences. Rules and Consequences. Even a time but of history can spark a fire over that tiny oversight.

The point is anyone can be a hero or a villain by their choices. Wind Waker Link becomes a hero by his own choices not by destiny. So did Spirit Tracks. Master Sword recognizes those who are greater than they were, to try and make things right and not to yield.

There is a theory that Gerudo, Shiekah and Twilight are all one once. That they were United by greed against the gods themselves. It might actually make sense. Ganondorf Dragmire learning about the Twilight and Shiekah being one alongside Gerudo. It would make it that much more interesting since Ganondorf is the leader of the guerdo uniting both Shiekah and Twilight to rise up against the gods.

Link: Zelda, Couldn’t we just locate this Sacred Land to find the Triforce? Zelda: Link, the Sacred Land isn’t a mystic location. Hyrule is the Sacred Land. Ganondorf: That is correct. The land itself is a creation of the gods and therefore, the one true place in the land where its core thrive.

@QuestWithAaron and anyone else who has insight to share! How are there so many errors (in every single Zelda game) in the Japanese to English translations? Obviously the nuance, specificity, cultural meaning, etc. of one language can't be perfectly expressed through another; we expect things to be lost in translation. However, you have provided many examples where the English translation completely misses the intended message... far more than expected amounts lost via translation. Is this caused by localization teams taking too many liberties and rewriting aspects of a story in an attempt to increase appeal for a Western audience? Is it caused by poor depth/understanding of linguistic nuance and culture? Maybe a simple lack of time and attention to detail? I have a hard time believing the culprit is lack of skill/knowledge within localization teams because some of the translations are so poor that the mistakes seem intentional (especially in Twilight Princess). Please share your thoughts with us, I cannot possibly be the only person wondering this!

I do think that Null is at least on their tier, like he wouldn't be able to defeat all of them working together in tandem like how you would get with the Full Triforce wish (That is the utter height of power in the series), but just being able to affect them in any way is notable, and not to mention that them didn't destroy Null from the beginning may imply that it would have been difficult if not impossible at that point in time. Another interesting thing is how the Triforce just, erases Null at the end of the game, like how do you erase non-existence? That's insane lol.

In just about every game, Link is a whole different person but reincarnated. Personality differs on what happens in his life during the timeline, which I believe is the reason Link is not overjoyed when I comes across a new item or weapon in botw or Totk. Link in botw/totk was born into a family of knights, which naturally makes him less cheerful and playful like he was in previous games. Link has obviously went through loads of training and was probably taught and disciplined to where he doesn’t show much interest in things a normal person would. Link in skyward sword for example, showed joy and excitement when he comes across something new. Link in botw, doesn’t. As said previously, Just about all Links are simply not the same Link but an reincarnated Link.

Is Null bound by the rules of time? Could he just pop open a rift in the past or future of EOW? I'm trying to figure out how he got Ganon's echo, also Demise was said to be a being outside of time so I feel like Null should be as well. Is there any indication in the Japanese about either of these 2 being outside of time?

The most possible answer for why he was able to copy Ganon is A Link Between Worlds and the way how the Afterlife works in Zelda, all souls end up in the Depths where they land at the Bargener Statues to go from the Material World into the next World Probably Ganon's soul was basically in Lorule after Yuganon died and Yuga seperated from Ganon, however they decided to send him from Lorule to Hyrule's Afterlife - thus Ganon had to get through the space between Dimensions and Eventually getting Past by Null.

Haha I haven't done much research into Pokémon, but I'd bet it would have to do with something related to it's design. Many dragons found within Japanese mythology are often depicted like snakes or serpents with a distinct lack of wings unlike those found in Western cultures. I believe this could be a potential contributing answer to your question (it could be that there's some in-game lore within the Pokémon universe as well)! I really appreciate that, thank you!! Translation is... Extremely complex to say the least, so in general I avoid placing any blame on those who were involved. Instead my purpose with these videos is to share additional translations, and interpretations of the Japanese text and discuss the components/nuances/details of text that are a challenge to transfer between languages ^^

@@QuestWithAaron Haha as for the Pokemon thing that was just for my sense of humor. Though I DO wish we had gotten Link's journal entries at least in an additional add on somewhere in a guidebook in the English translation if they weren't going to use that in the quest log function in the OG BOTW. I mean we DID get the Hyrule Compendium I don't see why we couldn't get that little additional Easter Egg or something about links journals that would have been a great way to integrate it. (I've seen that in your videos apparently a few years ago I just forgot. That one was fantastic as well.) I have a very, very, basic understanding of Japanese and Japanese grammar, a very very basic understanding and can recognize a very bare minimum of Kanji. Not from memory, and I don't have anything on my keyboard that can type anything out. I mainly can speak it but not in my area does anyone speak Japanese, so I don't really have a proper speaking partner. I can't write any full--Japanese sentence IN* the written language but in Romanji I can recognize most of it. Again I'm American and a majority of the people in my area aren't Japanese, so for practical every day use its not gonna be common to help someone as my parents don't really encourage me using it. (Spanish is probably going to be a secondary language here eventually T_T") But I just kinda want to have a hobby. You know?

All the power to you! That is so awesome you've learnt some Japanese. What do you think about trying some online apps like to perhaps meet a language partner? If you're interested, I think that the Link's Awakening remake on the switch is a fantastic game to get into for beginners in Japanese. The language used in that game is very simple, and, as it was originally a game boy game, you can still enjoy the game enough without having to cycle through walls of text (like in TotK for example), which I think can be especially tiring to do when you're still in the early stages of language learning.

@@QuestWithAaron Maybe one day in the future I can get a language speaking partner, but I'll look into the Links Awakening thing for a study reference. I'm just not so good at talking to strangers so I kinda study alone. I'm kinda a recluse personally and have very few close in-person friends I meet up with. Maybe there would be something in my area I could find if I look hard enough. I just get really nervous when I get tired due to my physical health, I also don't want to waste anyone's time if they're just doing it for me and I want to make a friend out of it who actually likes me. I absolutely love the design of the Tris and I had no idea why until this video. They embody this concept of Mu you’re talking about; of not emptiness but an indefinite, an amorphous material, description, and association: not just a lack of being a concrete something but a lack of a lack in the first place. From this indefinite wellspring of potential, where anything can arise in concept or function. The Tris themselves look formed or sculpted, taking shape itself or from a creative expression with the material. They look both like the familiar little art projects we made as kids while seeming otherworldly and divine in a sense, shaping their world as well as both made and maker. The Tris are in design and philosophy where playful imagination and profoundly wise spirituality go hand in hand.

The Tri's representing creative expression is a fantastic interpretation. The way you worded this was amazing and I completely agree with you. Perhaps slightly off topic, but you reminded me: I think it's quite ironic how considering Null wants to convert everything to nothingness, its appearance not only resembles a Tri itself, but it also uses creation as a means to achieve its goal of nothingness.

Just imagine how different it would be if only there was more time for Revali to be around Link. I believe it would be a similar thing with Link and Zelda. Over time Zelda starts to understand Link, and they became close friends. I believe that if Revali was around Link more, I believe that he would start to understand him more and their relationship would improve. I could see them as friends and also friendly rivals. It could of been reality if only they had more time to understand each other. To me, I find this as one of the biggest tragedies in the story of Breath of the Wild, alongside with Mifa’s death.

The Still World is Néant (Void) in French. Demise is called Avatar du Néant (Avatar of the Void) in French. He came out of a crack. Was Demise just an Avatar of Null? Making Ganondorf related to Null? That would explain why Null made Echoes of Ganon.

The thing is Null can only create Echoes thanks to the Tri and they can only create things that already existed once, they cannot create new things out of nowhere. The only way Null would copy Ganon is Because Ganon has potentially died and Null took over his remains to copy him - heck possibly the entire cataclysm caused by Null may be only because he managed to get somehow access to Ganon or his Remains, because only through him he can copy Demons, only through him he has authority over them and only through him he can create Boss Monsters as Echoes and use them to capture the Tris that would otherwise fix everything instantly

Hope the information in this video gets around the Zelda theorist community, I saw people interpreting Null as some kind of victim which is just absurd. He selfishly wants nothing to exist so that nothingness can remain endless. As you allude to, "mu" is very different when it's referring to ego death and ascension above human concerns as it does in Buddhism vs a very genuine annihilation of all that exists. I don't know how anyone can think the Goddesses were the bad guys when they stopped something from crushing all life out of the universe.

I wonder if there is even deeper significance, seeing as how this is the first game where we play as Zelda. Sure, it _seems_ like Demise/Ganon/Ganondorf is the big bad of all the other titles, but maybe Ganondorf is just to Null what Link is to Hylia and the Three Goddesses? Link is the Champion of this World, Ganondorf is the Champion of the World of Null, and Zelda has been aware of this the whole time.

Ganondorf is more the type of Person that seeks conflict, he gets a stimulation from combat like everyone else would get from sex. He is dedicated to combat and desires to turn the world into hell while Null wants to bring Oblivion. And Null is apparently also very dependant on Ganon's Powers, since Null always failed to break free, yet now he suddenly can once he got the Ability to clone Ganon or mind control him (which wouldnt be that difficult since Ganon was a Mindless Brute in the Downfall Timeline

@Chris-gx1ei So it's more like Ganon/Demise/Ganondorf has his own thing going on, *but* maybe Null piggy-backs on Ganons initiative, give him the strength to do what he is already inclined towards. I like this. I imagine Ganon may not even be aware of Null, that he isn't even conscious of how much of his power is being bolstered by unseen Patrons that seek to undo the world through his unchecked ambition.
@Chris-gx1ei

@@CJusticeHappen21 I rather think it's the other way around, Null got his powers from Ganon, and this allows Null to create massive rifts in the first place since with Ganon he also has control over his Demons and with these he can capture the Tri Sprites and eat away more of the World. why should Null need Ganon's Power if he secretly lends him his own?
@CJusticeHappen21

@@Chris-gx1ei Perhaps I'm overlaying too much with Lord of the Ring, where Morgoth (Null) is Sauron's (Ganon) master but has no actual interest in ruling the world, only seeking it's destruction. As opposed to Sauron who wants to rule the world in his image. Getting my fantasy wires crossed. That said, I do like your theory. The only thing that I would add is that Null doesn't seem to be powerless, it's just that his own power is always to "take", and this is reflected in the boss fight where his own attacks are represented by his grabbing claws. This method of attack also fits nicely with his nature as a demon of endless consumption.

So, Null and his world of nothiness could be thought of as the "painting" that the Goddesses "painted over" with the world of Hyrule? Seems to me that between the two worlds, they could have implemented a primer, something to prevent the image of the old world from influencing the image of the new world, and that this "Prime Energy" is the nature of this interstitial space.

My thoughts about Null being separate or connected to Demise is this: I believe Demise was created by Null "on accident", like how TotK Ganondorf "accidentally" created Calamity. Their respective hatreds took lives of their own and became separate from their origins. Also, even though monsters CAN get swallowed by the Rifts, the "Light World" monsters can clearly still survive in it whereas Hylians, Zora, Gorons, etc. are "stilled." I think this indicates that the monsters have a "chaotic essence" that's tied to Null, the being of primordial chaos. Therefore Demise would have a "chaotic essence" too, even if he's unaware of it.
