Futons were popular in the 90's. Everyone had one.

The only cons I see is that it is not for lazy people who do not clean and fold their blankets.

I only opened this video because of the beautiful lady, but got good advice on buying futons. Not a total waste of my time after all. I probably shouldn't be saying this, as it may sound impolite, but you look lovely in a calm and charming manner. Sorry for my bad grammar, I'm still learning ENG.

What about spiders on the floor? My place sometimes has wolf slides crawling across the floor during some seasons. How to deal with that on this futon?

It futon-tatami safe for babies? I started considering nursing my future baby on the futon in the living room instead on the sofa (which is definitely not safe but that what I ended up doing with my first two kids)

The best part about an authentic Japanese futon is the cotton they use. I cannot stand polyester and acrylic!

Today, I watched this video and was glad to hear what you are thinking about Futon. I am Japanese and living in Japan. So I have been using Futon made from 100% cotton. It is really good to use pure cotton. But you need to keep dry as you told and showed to keep good condition. If you couldn't feel softness after you used for more than 5 years, you can re-whip cotton that has hardened. But we ask it to the pro-shop. Enjoy your Japanese Futon.

Since 1997 I use a camping mattress on the floor. I cannot sleep on a bed anymore. Camp mattress is so light to move around

Did exactly like you, went all in and ordered one from japan. Same place i think. But got a bit sad when i got the customs bill.. (i live in Sweden)😁 Sourced the tamatis locally also. Been sleeping like this for three years now and it is actually really nice, I like the simplicity of it and i don’t miss my bulky old bed 🥳 #floorcrew 😁🤌

7:28 just be wary of hanging lots of weight on doors, it can lead to creaky doors that eventually won't click shut properly. The rate that this happens of course depends on how often, for how long, and at what weight you drape things on the door

Thank you for sharing your experience without a bed and why you choose the option you did. I do think a futon is a great for health and a cheap option in certain circumstances.

first time I was really certain someone online is from Austria from an accent in English, lol (and I was right according to the channel Info) can't pinpoint the area tho, but sounds more central/ northern/ eastern than southern/ western, I think

I’ve had a few American made futons, some all cotton and some cotton around a foam core. They have been comfortable but fairly quickly develop a dip where I sleep, despite flipping and rotating them. I need to replace them after a couple of years. I’m curious whether this is simply the nature of cotton or whether the processing method used in the Japanese made futons will affect how long they remain comfortable. Any ideas? Thanks for your videos.

I slept on a ikea mattress topper for over 8 years - only gave it up when I moved into a really cold apartment - where I felt the floor was too cold for sleeping (in central Europe). Now I realize after sleeping in a normal soft bed for 3 years that I changed my sleeping position to sleep on the side - and I have so much more neck tension than before. So thanks for reminding me of how it was before. I will now get back to being part of the floor crew :)

You have not considered that there could be RADON gas poisoning because of sleeping on the floor. Make sure you have very good ventilation, directly connected to the floor of the room.

I slept on the floor on my 25cm high mattress for a couple nights. And honestly the stiffness of the floor was so good. No hip pain, I woke up refreshed, shoulders was kinda sore bcs I’m a heavy side sleeper and getting up in the night for a pee is lil bit „annoying“ 😂 but I’ve been considering to get rid of my bed frame since the nights on the floor

i have been sleeping on futon for like 3 months and it has helped my body pains so much! also the routine of getting up and putting my bed away helps me so much with not wasting my days laying in bed! i went to stay at a friends and we were discussing sleeping arrangements and i said "oh i'll just bring my bed" and she was hysterical when i pulled it out of my car. i honestly love it and cant see myself going back to a spring mattress

I am on and off the floor for a few years mainly cause i was moving countries and places and in some of them you only have a bed and no other spot to put sleeping gear on. Recently i used to sleep on wool blankets but it got chilly recently and i feel it on the floor more. Also it's the matter of shyness because i only make beds from various materials and feel kind of embarassed about it when i stay at places with other people and don't wanna talk about it. Definitely aiming to sleep like that on a nicer futon when i have my own stable space
