On the website, I see many certification. Which is to buy refrigerant at a store with a card? Why is there a separate one for r410a?
@qwikproduct
@qwikproduct 20 күн бұрын
The EPA Section 608 Certification is required to purchase refrigerant in a store. Depending on the type of unit you are servicing, you may only need a Type 1, Type 2, or Type 3 EPA Section 608 Certification. However, the most common certification for those working in the field is the Universal EPA Section 608 Certification. This proctored exam covers all types of units. For more information, please visit here ww2.epatest.com/epa-section-608/ The R410A Certification is a supplemental certification available to those who already have an EPA Section 608 Certification. While it's not required to purchase R-410A refrigerant, it is beneficial due to the higher pressures associated with R-410A equipment. If you take the R410A exam without having a Section 608 Certification, your results will show "Passed" instead of "Certified" until you pass an EPA 608 Exam. Hope this helps!

Hi, the ProctorU test is the Universal Exam so it covers Type 1, 2, 3 and Core. By passing you would be certified to handle refrigerant on any type of unit. The PM, R-410a, and HFO are all separate exams but before you can be certified in any of those subsidiary exams you have to first be 608 certified. Hope this helps!

I'd agree with you on that and keen observation! This demonstration is mainly to show people, visually, how our solution would attack scale. Ideally, this solution should be used for closed-loop systems like a tankless water heater, where it would be more cost-effective to run descaler through it than replacing the pipes or the entire unit. It's just hard to show that visually but we do have a video that attempts to explain it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJm9Z2dri72HZqs

Does this cleaning solution go through a whole homes pipe systems, or just the hot water tank? I recently replaced my kitchen faucet, put new supply lines in to replace the old copper lines, and also replaced two fittings going into unions, both fittings I replaced had an excessive buildup of some sort and I could imagine the rest of the pipes have that same buildup.
@qwikproduct
@qwikproduct 6 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. Our instructions do not recommend putting the descaler solution through a whole home pipe system. We recommend our product primarily on systems that can circulate in isolation (such as a tankless water heater system) so that we can then flush it with copious water while it is still isolated before returning to service.

Is there a problem with doing this? Solution through cold out hot first and then in hot and out cold and then flush out hot like normal.

I have an ecm blower motor whose lower part--ecm i believe, or control module/where the 240v ports and speed taps are. The motor failed one week into the install of a new air handler. I tested the motor with direct power and individual low voltage speed 24v tests and it works so im able to get my a/c running for now without the module but it does not shut off unless i pull the disconnect or circuit breaker. The ecm replacement is nowhere to be found. It is/was a 3/4hp 1250rpm variable speed motor, Would this product work for me with the existent motor?

@qwikproduct
@qwikproduct Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your question! If I am understanding you correctly then it's important to know the solution will change color (a yellowish or brownish color) when more descaler is needed. Also, the brass fitting has a metal protectant in it and should cause no issues over that time frame, however, we do recommend 10 minutes as the cleaning time as the instructions state. We also recommend users always dilute the descaler solution and stop cycling if the liquid stays red. Once there no color change is occurring then the system is clean of any scale, lime, rust, and other water-formed deposits. At that time, give it a final flush with water and return the unit to service. Also, if you need any walk-through assistance feel free to reach out to us directly as well at [email protected] or call (321) 631-3550

Good video. What about DC motor controls. My Tempstar has a speed control board between the main board and the motor. I believe it's doing the same thing as the end-cap, or bell on the ecm motor. It's discontinued of course so I'm scrambling to get it working as winter sets in. I believe a 24vdc transformer and a bridge rectifier switched in by a relay triggered by the signal from the main board will get me going. Only one speed of course.

Thank you for the comment. As a general rule of thumb, if the original motor has a constant torque ECM (X13) style plug, it will be compatible with our QwikSwap X1 and QwikSwap X3. If the original motor is a variable speed ECM (2.0, 2.3, 2.5, 3.0) with a 16 pin or 4 pin plug, it will be compatible with our QwikSwap V3.

I used the Quickswap V3, followed the installation instructions and as soon as I turn the power on to the unit the blower motor came on. The thermostat wasn't calling for cooling or heating and the fan was set to auto. I figured it would run for a couple of min. then shut off but it just stayed on. Ended up just taking it off and wiring the PSC motor to the contactor for cooling. I installed the same V3 board on a ICP pkg. unit and it worked fine.(I uploaded a short video installing it)could it be that maybe it wasn't compatible with the Trane unit? if so , which board would work with Trane?

Thank you for the comment and for using our product! The QwikSwap V3 will work on the Trane unit that you are referencing. This setting can be found in appendix A1 in the install instructions. We would also be happy to walk you through it over the phone 321-631-3550. Additionally there is an interactive troubleshooting guide on our website that will walk you through the configuration setting. It is very easy to use. The blower motor doesn't consume near as much electricity as the compressor or heater elements so it's not lowering your bill that much. And the ECM controller is vulnerable to power surges. The failure rate is much higher than PSC motors and until mfg's figure out how to make the controller's more reliable, they will continue to be an inferior motor to the PSC.
