What size nails if using a brad nailer ? Thanks love your work!!!
@DIYGeneКүн бұрын
Well because the cedar is only about 5/8” thick, I would go with 1.25” brads. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
@Zamboni-08053 күн бұрын
It lloks nice, but how do you rest your arm on the arm rest? They are way to narrow for mosy ppl. Also, the cedar will eventually turn brown unless it has been treated.
@DIYGene2 күн бұрын
If you want a flatter or wider arm rest, you could easily add a cedar board on the tops of the sides. I have used Hellmans clear outdoor spar vanish for protection. We will see how well that holds up. Thanks for watching.

Is there a way to have The body colored, but still see the grain of the wood under it? I’m sorry, I really don’t know what I’m doing lol
@DIYGene3 күн бұрын
Absolutely, you can use the same acrylic paint, but apply the color with a clean cloth. Thin the paint with water then rub it into the wood to the desired look. Here is a video on this process. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5i8dKl5lKalp5Ysi=VTCXiqGIOzPEN2d_ But I would recommend the Tru-Oil for the. Clear glass finish. I hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out if I can help with any other questions. Gene

@DIYGene4 күн бұрын
Hi Kyle, I’m not sure about the overall size of that speaker. I would suggest if you have a Harbor Freight in your area? They have a nice selection of these boxes. Also Northern Tool has these too.

@DIYGene10 күн бұрын
LOL! Especially if no one knows it’s a box wine. This project has become a big gift item and I have made several now. I have also started making them out of cedar fence boards for next to nothing and the turn out even better. Also you can use some of those frozen cooler packs on the sides of a white wine and serve chilled. Thanks so much for watching.

I'm stocking up on cedar pickets this coming fall/winter season while they're dirt cheap so I can go wild next spring building things for my new backyard, and as gifts for family members. There are so many things you can build for a little bit of nothing out of those things! I wish I had known this sooner. I don't have the super fancy tools, but the ones I do have can usually get the job done with a little bit more elbow grease. Thanks for this, it's going at the top of my list!

You are so right. Cedar is my new go to material. I love how it holds up, how it looks and even how it smells. I was thinking about building these projects with tools most of us have in our garage or can buy really cheap and created another video on building a lounge chair. Check it out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6HaonSvZseEnLMsi=WzouaQZsflTm4W4B Thanks so much for watching.

I off set it so I could use deck screws to attach the deck to the stringers. Otherwise I would have to drill a lot of holes in the metal and use carriage bolts to secure the deck. You can do that, but this seems to make more sense. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching.
