So those look like the 40” tall totes are they still considered a 1/3 cord or a face cord how ever you look at it?
@outdoorswithlarryrobin4 сағат бұрын
Hello Mat, great deal on the totes probably could get four bags of sand and put them in the front totes

Привет. Из одной пластиковой ëмкости можно сделать крышу на 2 контейнера.
@UpInTheNorthwoods4 сағат бұрын
I think airbags would be a good fit for that! We have airbags on both our 3/4 ton and 1 ton, and when you drop the air out, they ride like a new truck, but with the air in the bags, you don't get the sag. We love them, and we still get the good ride!
@BertsCustomCuts5 сағат бұрын
You shhould be able to stack them 3 high when empty and when full 2 high as long as they are on fairly solid ground. If moving them in winter, I like to put plastic from bladders under them so they dont freeze down.
@nicholisking92725 сағат бұрын
I put the 3/4 ton coil over shocks thats supposed to add like 800 lbs a side and ive puled a 25ft gooseneck with a 30 hp john deere and a side by side on it and it squats less than the same load on my dads 3/4 ton ford diesel, only thing is the part store says they wont fit cause there like 4" longer but leave the tires on the ground and jack it up from the ball

Air bags from air lift would help. Great video. Have a great day be safe
@BGWenterprises6 сағат бұрын
Not necessarily easy or convenient. but a load distributing hich to transfer load to the front of the truck, is more or less what you need. in combination with the 4th spring, you plan on adding and the springs you took off. It would hold the rear up. Air bags are another option, but ive not used them. . Just once a year you need to inspect the frame of the truck for damage, as your basically pushing the load capacity over time. especially so, if it's exposed to road salt. . For the trailer, you could flip the axils to the other side of the springs, and have the tires right about deck height. As trailer fenders and forks are just a bad mix when you add logs to the mix.
@kendriedger1517 сағат бұрын
That sounds good in theory and may fix the spring problem ! BUT the rest of the truck is still a 1500 !!!! You will be probably be having transmission problems soon since you plan on haul lots of heavy loads of logs ! But Good Luck with it all !😊

I had to do the same thing with my 2012 Ram 1500.It helped but still not enough so I added suspension air bags.Works great now.

@FirewoodontheHill5 күн бұрын
Yep my tractor is rated for 1800 as well but you won’t get that lift capacity without ballast in the back.

Nice to have such good equipment for processing and loading firewood. I would love to use totes but don't have a FEL. I have been looking at the Harbor Freight unloader but sold all bundles this year and nothing in 1/3 cord quantities. Keep up the good work!
@FirewoodontheHill5 күн бұрын
Those truck unloaders are good for anything. bundles, mulch, dirt, and bags of anything. It brings it right to you.

Hi Matt, you sure are making progress in the woodyard. Keep up the great work! Did you meet your goal of one cord a week in 2024? I'm looking forward to your progress in 2025!
@FirewoodontheHill6 күн бұрын
Yes the woodyard is coming along! I did meet my goal of a cord a week! Since I’m working on the woodyard clean up I haven’t been able to maintain a cord a week this year. I think I’ve only done like 1 cord since the beginning of January. I will get back on it soon as I want to split more than 50 cords This year.

Hahah I think I’ll take the mudd. Although it’s 18 degrees here and snowing right now . The wood sales have been like no other year. I could’ve sold triple what I sold this year. It’s absolutely nuts. Glad your sales are doing well. I like the new machine!

-13 this morning in WI still -3 now. Artic cold sucks. At least u can be outside working not worth the 🥶 frostbite the past 3 days to split wood. I did deliver 2 face of oak when it was -10. I was bored and didn't take long to do. The ground is as hard as concrete here

Do you have a headache rack on the front of your pickup box cause you will knock out your back window i sold firewood and saw a few get broken out just check with russ Willey firewood told him same thing and next thing I know he has a piece of plastic where his window was just saying cause if that easy we would of did it to load pickup trucks with wood but to much can go wrong like the back window
@FirewoodontheHill6 күн бұрын
Yeah I don’t have a headache rack. I’m going to take my chances. I have hit the window with wood before and it doesn’t show any signs of breaking very easily. Thanks for the concern though

Great video. Good side hustle. Does it matter if it takes 30 sec or 60? Do you figure your labor cost into profit?
@FirewoodontheHill7 күн бұрын
Thank you and time is very important so anyway to speed it up does help. I never have enough time. It might not seem like a big deal but over a year 30 seconds adds up . I don’t track my labor cost because it varies so much and I do this as a hobby.
@Dirtpoorhomesteader10 күн бұрын
They both have pros and cons. I do wrapped bundles for my 4 campgrounds. I think it helps the campers to see the wood. I do bags for general public. I like the bags because I can have them loaded any which way in back of truck. The bundles will rip and tear in back of truck. I use both and have had good success with both.
@FirewoodontheHill7 күн бұрын
Yeah have both have their pros and cons. I prefer bags for sure.

@ciphercode2298Күн бұрын
For the money,these are hard to beat. For a business, yeah I understand a log lift,but this is perfect for a homeowner. One with a log lift is about 3 times the price and not really any faster,unless you buy a really big one with a 6 way wedge
