Nice build, this kit looks better than the Testors kit. I like the inclusion of the photo etch. I wish one of the model companies would take note, and realize, that we do not have many air racers in quarter scale to choose from. I wouldn't mind Roscoe Turner's Meteor or the Gee Bee Z.

WOW.... A silk purse frow a pigs ear! Impressive build, looks great. I also got this kit when it came out, now also have the tamiya F35B. Am going to attempt to build KH kit, but, if all goes to crap, then I luckily have the tam one! Thanks for all the info on build issues with KH kit.

1:21;no just glue and paint. The HARD part is going to be to hand paint the factory streak camo. You make me wanna make mine;same kit,etch and figure! Been sitting there for a year or so with ALL the others. Having M.E. and Fibromyalgia makes it hard to get into that pattern and stay in it. Am currently making the Morane type L Parasol in 1/48 along with other ideas simultaneously. I'll get there. ☮️🩵🖖🏻✝️♾️🕉🪬⚛️

12:45;struTs😉 Excellent model!I have still yet to make my one in 1/48(I have Voss too). I think Werner Voss was the best German pilot,even better than Manfred,Ernst and Erich! Last time I tried to paint bomb stripes, I could not seem to avoid bleed through at the point where the masking tape overlapped itself. Any tips??

bomb stripes? dip them into paint. Vest technique to achieve perfect stripes for such curvy pieces.

Re: mask leaking - I've made it a habit to spray a coat of either the color I'm going to mask over (white, in your case here) or something clear, like a flat or gloss coat, if going over an already-complex scheme (say, having to spray something that's "overpainted on camo" or some such) - that way, if some paint's going to creep under, it's going to be either clear or the same color. Have to be careful not to leave a ridge, but that's usually not an issue.

Great work. I admit here that I had to trash my Swordfish kit because I made some serious errors by not following directions when it came to the wings. But I learned some things by watching this video, and I am ordering another kit. So I will not give up and admit defeat just yet.

Excellent job, I am glad you have shown the work involved with the Aviatik decals, oh and the axel fairing was covered in ply wood and painted solid green on the upper surface, any streaking on it is from the oil dropped from the engine.

squadron signal 98 cover did it for me, although it is an artist rendering, I saw some that hinted the streak, you may be right, well, now it’s done, whoever comes next can decide then.

Looks good. I Just finished this kit w/Model Cellar Voss 1/48 figure. Im doing a diorama of MVRs 425/17 & Voss Fokker 103/17 also Albatros D.111 of both pilots. All Eduard 1/48 kits. Thanks for sharing. Eduard are a Great Company

This one was an early Dora job if not the first. Their kits are a bit rough, but have improved some. On wheels in spatted undercarriages.....glue spat halves together and the wheels also. Do not put wheels in spats. Grind or carve a channel from the top of wheel reaching to the wheel center, for the mounting pins to pass through. Then paint, glue and insert wheel. Good work, mate.
