Nice to see contemplation of the actual area that would need to be treated annually for a change. Most people don’t understand that what gets done now is orders of magnitude too little. Your estimate of 3.9 million acres per year seems sound. 33 million acres of forest in the state plus another 10 million of shrubland and given how fast fuels grow back following treatment (3-10 years), we would need to scale up significantly.

Costs may be assigned such that the benefits to the public outweigh public cost. This can be accomplished by means such as laws and ordinances that require property owners to comply with fuel reduction goals at their own cost, perhaps with fines and penalties such as situations if fire escapes from individuals ' noncompliant properties.

I worked to quantify hazardous fuel removal as part of cost benefit studies of woodfired electric generators. Sadly the benefits at that time were more difficult to demonstrate against competitors such as wind generators. Keep up the good work to prove the benefits of fuel management.

It is difficult when using the term "Fuel " as a verb and a noun which both have many different meanings within climate change.Thanks.

Stop the geoengineering, stop the spraying of toxic aluminum and barium chemtrails over north America,, stop the destruction of the ozone layer by the ionospheric microwave heaters that have hijacked the jet streams ,and most of all get educated about the deadly practices of the geoengineering systems.ignorance is no excuse.wake up .

Kinda weird how theres not been a cloud in the sky but lightning and racially motivated arsonists keeps lighting all these very extreme fires all in the same general area..... its causing me to become more suspicious of some sort of consiracy.. like the recent one in Hawaii.. Its just too weird that insurance companies dropped their home owners policies and refused to write any new ones right before this..how did they know? And whats with the natural man made disaster thing they were talking about adding ? Does anyone else think its kinda fishy?❤

Fantastic info and analysis! Glad I found you on safari search. Bishop Owens Valley seeing smoke come over the mountains which must be from these fires. I hope its a temporary issue as you mentioned winds will drive fires south? I a retired USFS biologist so wondering if you ever worked us. Your good dude!!

The bo t fire camera flame over was a very dramatic preventable disaster. Looks like a couple million dollars of property loss, what happened someone forgot to mow the grass? The surrounding trees remain unburned I wonder why?

Hi, you mentioned "Central California " on the 17th. There is a Northern California which is everything north of The Bay Area. Southern Cal is, duh, south of The Bay Area. Central California is the Central Valley that goes north/ south btw the Coastal Mountain and the Sierra Nevada Mts. There ya go! :D

Sounds like he's getting profit and gains from stealing money fire is started from a individual. And when California doesn't have much rain from the corrupt harp corporation and taking the carbon monoxide out of the air that creates oxygen in order to breathe air. So this tells me that it's definitely individual's are starting the dam fires because California doesn't have enough carbon monoxide in the air to have enough oxygen with that lie about the ozone and what is funny it was 3 degrees hotter 150 years ago than today so that means global warming is nothing but propaganda get really real with this lie because it's getting really boring.
