Some give the course away for free and then offer to do the work for them; in other words, the implementation part for a service fee.. And although that would be considered a "done for you" type of service, the idea of a "done WITH you" type of service intrigues me 💡

I've been watching Pat since 2010-ish during his SPI days. What people need to know is that Pat is very good at knowing the NEEDS of his audience and is constantly in contact and communication with what people value / want. Then he delivers it. Next, he teaches what he learned. So he basically is creating solid income streams from understanding what people need and then being an excellent teacher sharing what he learned after the fact. Most people have no clue what their audience truly needs. They may have "cool ideas" out the yin yang but do not know how to implement it or give people what is in demand. Just because YOU think someone would buy it, doesn't mean there is a market for it. Pat understands what people need. Everyone is podcasting these days and people need to save time. So he delivered on a product that was in demand. He is a master at this because he UNDERSTANDS his audience, and it's why he's had long-lasting success. I see a few people here doubting him, but once again, you have to figure out what people would buy and then put yourself in front of those buyers with your own community. When you do that, you can make it look easy, even though we know it's not.

I agree that selling useful services will do very well. The problem is that to sell services it requires the providers time, 1:1 in proportion to the service rendered, as opposed to selling knowledge (or other digital products) which can be done once and sold multiple times. I think that is what a majority of people are trying to do by starting a youtube channel or selling courses/ebooks. Still, it was a great video and provided some food for thought! Just making any content doesn't work anymore, it has to be information that is not out there yet and that solves a specific problem.

So I'm hearing short practical courses where you walk people through it. I know that's what I look for these days
