I had to have the spinal fusion surgery at the age of 15 bc my curvature was so severe according to my orthopedic surgeon. I tried chiropractic every day for months as well as having to get fitted for a tortoise shell brace to wear everyday to try and get my curvature to curve the opposite way. My surgeon told my parents I would’ve punctured a lung by the age of 26 if I didn’t have the surgery. I am now 37 years old and am in the worst pain of my life and have very little function or mobility. What can someone do at this point in their life to manage or fix the pain?

Technology is messing with our necks. Watch people using mobiles ( even kids ) and sitting in front of laptops...notice that oblivious to everything else ....we ( yes me as well ) tend to move our necks forward and thus compromise the structural integity of our cervical spines! Suffice to say im grateful to have eventually landed in a good place with a chiropractioner who has gradually turned my C5/6 cervical herniation and c7 degeneration nightmare into a condition i can cope with.

For anyone watching, i have sciatica, i havent cured it yet but try doing the pigeon pose from yoga. That helped a lot. Try tsking B12, magnesium and vitamin D. It helped some, there are videos how vitamin deficiency can cause or amplify this, i think haning upside down might help. When i first got it pulling my leg helped.

I'm 38 years old woman, I have severe scoliosis, and artificial hips, tilted hips, one leg shorter than the other and a dropped foot. I use addition to my left footwear (it's the shorter one), and I still limp a lot. Do you think I can still be able to work on that? I had this situation since the day I started walking as a kid, like a duck they said. I had wrong diagnosis and wrong treatment at the time and the doctors back then said I should wait till I become mature, and I when I did those doctors were gone and the new doctor told I should of done a surgery when I was little, and the type of the surgery changed into artificial hips. (Hips replacements I think it's called). Sorry for talking to much. but I want to be able to be better and not be a burden on anyone.

What about curves that are compensating for another? I am a 42 yr old female and just found out last year that i have a mild double curve scoliosis as well as a short right leg. I never new this before. Ive seen a few drs since then. I have tried PT but it was painful in the process plus ive let myself go for awhile accept for work (personal care aide since 2010) i also have had a lot of SI joint pain. If understand my xrays my curve that is compensating is greater than the idiopathic one. One curve is to the right in the thoracolumbar and the 2nd curve is to the left in mid to upper thoracic area. Im just curious what you would have to say of double curvatures

What's the point of living if at 25 I have to give up all my dreams and live in constant pain. Walking, sitting, lying down hurts. No doctors believe me as I am extremely fit, I was about to join a renown circus for my acrobatic skills, handstand push ups, flips, swinging trapeze ... I haven't injured myself falling or by accident, it's just this demon living inside me that never leaves me and slowly gets worse. I can only sleep 5h max and often less. Sometimes not even sleeping at all because of this pain.

I have a c5 disc bulge and after 9 months its like my ahlulders are progressively feelijg weak.. ulbuf i havs my physio exercises i do.. im kijda freaked out. Its just a small bulge.. and a compressinf nerve left side of my neck!! Its been 10 months total.. but my most concern is my weak feslijg shoulders.. arms to hands.. like if i lift my fingers up and hold that.. it feels weak lretty quick

I had lower back pain for years stemming from picking a patient up off the floor at a hospital I worked at. It had gotten so bad that I began searching for a Neuro Surgeon hoping to get some relief. I found a surgeon with great reviews and met with him. After all the MRI's and CT's, he told me I needed surgery to fix the herniated disc at L4,L5, and S1. He did surgery with Robotics and it all sounded good to me. Almost 7 weeks later, the pain in my left lower back and down my left leg is horrible! All I can take for pain is Tylenol and Gabapentin. Now he wants to go back in and do another surgery! I hate the thought of it, and I'm not sure if another surgery will help!! I wish I had NEVER had it done at all!! It's just a freaking nightmare!

I've had surgery s1 L5 L4 fusions, too late for me

I had the rods put in when I was 15.... at 21 my back hurt so bad I had the rods taken out.. now at 54 I have really bad pain, had steroid shots and the shots to deaden the nerves and neither helped. With all that said what is my next step to try to get some relief? Oh I've also been thru PT several times also didn't help.

Very worst sport for this: fencing. High impact (on the leg-hip-girdle, sideways stance, fast movements, very one-sided shoulder-girdle, arm action, shoulder tilt, etc. Also extreme intense cardio.
