ive just got the 66, really pleased so far, ive yet to run a battery down with solid cutting for 3 hours and in some dense new growth

These are great low entry machines with a fantastic reach and battery runtime.But I've been unlucky and have been through three in the past couple of years.The last one I had about a month before the cutting head gave up.Have now purchased a Hla 66 and hoping it's more robust.

Sorry to hear that - its always worth getting in touch directly with Stihl if you have any issues- their customer service is excellent. Fingers crossed that the HLA 66 fairs better- feedback on them is good so hopefully you'll get lots of use out of it!
