I know exactly her reason why regular public school with blind visually impaired people are not being treated the same way as going to Governor Morehead school because the teachers are not trained, and the kids don’t understand what visual impairment means lotta times people take it as a stereotype so trust me, I am so glad I did not continue my education at a regular public school in middle school and high school because it would’ve been a huge mistake because I know Governor Moorehead schools, teachers and staff are specifically trained to handle people who are visually impaired

I am so glad that GMS never brought back the horse show because One students who are blind or visually impaired people will not have fun at that horse show because you can’t really see the horses move around all you here is music that especially goes also to small, not professional or college sporting events because a lot of times are not you won’t have it Broadcasted on TV or on the radio. From the time you left and onwards, I’ve been hearing this school has gotten a whole lot better
@dylanmccleary39232 ай бұрын
To anyone who is listening to this podcast who is blind and visually impaired, and still goes to K-12 schools you can still go to regular public school, but I would highly highly recommend Governor Morehead school or any other school for the visually impaired in your state because for example, a lot of times regular public school does not have as good level accommodations support and even activities versus at Governor Morehead school for example you can do way more than just your education
@hannahheartmusic85422 ай бұрын
I get that… But I also feel like blind schools don’t exactly teach you the skills that you need when living in a world full of sighted people. But that’s just my opinion. A lot of people are sheltered and that’s the sadness of it.
@dylanmccleary39232 ай бұрын
In the USA there needs to be more awareness when it comes to disabilities in general, especially visual impairment because anytime somebody tells me that they’re living in a rural area that am I opinion only means one thing, a lack of transportation, and most importantly, good opportunities for you to have a good career and work

Good afternoon this is Dylan mcCleary I am a 2023 governor Morehead school. I’ve been following Skyler Jarvis media for the last couple months now and I want to say to you Carol that you or your parents made a big mistake by going to public school and I’m not trying to be mad with you or anything like that and nature, but public school at least regular School does not have the right support system for you nor or as good accommodations as let’s say Governor Morehead, South Carolina school for the death and the blind or Florida school for the blind And to be quite honest with you, I had so much of a better experience at Governor Morehead school Versus regular public school The teachers there were trained to help people who were blind visually impaired

As far as employment in rural areas, you’re not even gonna have employment in real areas there’s a 0% chance it’s going to happen or unless you apply for the ablr 360 program you might as well move to Raleigh. I don’t care what anyone says but Raleigh I know has far more employment for the blind and visually impaired my senior year at Governor Morehead school. If I had to tell people in North Carolina, who is blind and visually impaired, don’t go to public school go to Governor Morehead school because Governor Morehead school Offers way more support compared to public school in terms of accommodations activities even sports art that versus public school you don’t have the same resources as Governor Morehead school. I understand where you came from when you came to your graduation back in 2020 But I wouldn’t necessarily say that it was the schools thought altogether For keeping us at home. trust me, I thought that was the case. The real person who did it was our stupid ass governor and just so you know, I don’t care if you are a republican or a Democrat most politicians to this day are going to lie to you. They say that what they want to do, but they actually lie to you. and don’t even get me started on the politics because I could go all day talking about that and I don’t even listen to the news I mean as much as I would like to be informed about stuff I just don’t listen to it because TV today especially the news is full of bull crap. But anyway, I think for your next episode I honestly think you should talk about as a child. How were you able to play this really cool game called loopz and loopz shifter. Personally, I like the shifter more than the original loopz. Because I’m gonna be honest with you, I’m sure a lot of other people don’t even know what that game is nor have touched it before Most people have seen or heard of if you will bop-it or Simon.
