You’re a landlord. Somebody else is paying your mortgage and then some. So pay local tradespeople for their expertise when it comes to repairs. You contribute to the economy that way, and we all win. Otherwise, you’re just a parasite.

I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second daughter. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks...

My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless.

The key to big returns is not big moving stocks. It's managing risk in relationship to reward. Having the correct size on and turning your edge as many times as necessary to reach your goal. That holds true from long term investing to day trading.

Even with the right strategies and appropriate assets, investment returns can differ among investors. Recognizing the vital role of experience in investment success is crucial. Personally, I understood this significance and sought guidance from a market analyst, significantly growing my account to nearly a million. Strategically withdrawing profits just before the market correction, I'm now seizing buying opportunities once again.

Hi Mat Enjoyed your video. IV been watching a property that's going to auction in four days time . But this morning when I went back in to the legal pack I found a new download, with hidden costs . I have basically worked it out to be in total around £11,000. It's at a guid of £35,000. Plus £11,000. =£46,000. I'm buying it to live in and have money premium bonds so it quick to cash in to pay for it. I feel if I decide it wasn't really for me and want to sell it £85,000. Would be a realistic selling price. Therefore between buying and selling would leave £36,000. Luckily for me I can do most of the work myself so I have budget of £10,000. (Which would be £20,000. If I was paying for the work) So if I deduct £20,000. That would leave £16,000. I want to protect myself from Zero Equity would you consider a bid price of £41,000. Plus plus £11,000. Making a purchase price if I'm lucky that is £52,000. A realistic figure or would you think an absolute top bid of £44,000. With all information provided. Nicx

Gold, BTC, quality global stocks, yes, however not property, if the U.S. dollar gets hyperinflation everything becomes worthless in that country, only global assets survive. Yes assets will go up against the U.S. dollar, however the U.S. dollar would become worthless compared to other currencies or global assets. As for property in the U.S, property is a national fiat asset, it would go up in value against the U.S. dollar, however not in other currencies or global assets. .. Anyone feeling the impact of these economic shifts should consider Crypto long-term trading strategies to protect their assets. My advice to anyone feeling the heat in this inflation, just trade long term more than ever, I have made over 520k from day trading with Harry’s Dent in few weeks, this is one of the best medium to backup your assets incase it goes bearish..

Hi, really interesting, I was linked this video by a friend. I am currently in a SO property and am looking to try and sell in the next year. The one thing that I don't understand, is why didn't/couldn't the HA remove your permission to sell on the open market when you went back with a lower valuation? I would have thought with the lower valuation, they would say that falls within shared ownership bands, and would then try to sell the property on to other potential SO buyers? *edit: Nevermind, I found my answer in other comments 🙏interesting, I'll need to look at this.

Well done. A bit of luck and a lot of work. The housing market is in a dire state with very very few Gov built homes and not enough private investment homes being built. It used to be that the local councils would build more homes than private investment, but now they build very few and keep selling off their stock. The answer - do nothing and blame private landlords 🤷♂️. The real answer should be - build more Gov funded homes for poorer people.

New houses are ugly and poorly built, unless it's a bespoke build. You get a very small plot for the size of house too, which means you get a tiny garden and no real driveway most of the time. Do not buy anything on the copy/paste estates currently being flung up all over the country. In 10 years they will look tired and need work.

Let's strip this down. Matt bought a 40% share of a house worth £567,000 with of £40,000 deposit. Therefore his mortgage would have been £187,000 (though he says £177,000 in the video). He would have had rent, mortgage repayments and service charges to pay, and maybe even ground rent. Using conservative figures I estimate that Matt would have had to pay £900 per month in rent, £800 in mortgage repayments and £100 per month in service charges. He would have had outgoings of at least £1,800 per month under this scheme. After 3 years that would be something like £65,000. It's often the information that's missing that's important. If he'd stayed at home with his parents and payed them £500 per month he'd have been about £36,000 better off. Shared ownership schemes aren't all that in my opinion.
@juliuswi87672 ай бұрын
Having now read all the comments I see that Matt rented out a spare room. I'd be surprised if the housing associaition AND mortgage provider allow you to do that. Your scenario only works in London if it works at all!
