Love this. Titleist Performance Institute suggests a similar protocol. Obviously not the message companies selling speed training aids want to get out, but the proof is in the pudding. There's zero cost of entry, so give it a try and see what happens.

MOST golfers purposely seeking more club head speed lose accuracy more times than not. It's actually a bad trade-off. You're either fast or you are not.

@scottfawcett, This probably won’t help you now since I’m watching this 8 months after release….😂 The soreness you are describing follows the origin and insertion of the “quadratus lumborum” muscle. Just reach your hand back and stick your thumb underneath the strappy muscles (erector spinae) on either side of your spine between your bottom rib and hip. Find a tender spot and hold for 30-90 seconds until it releases and the pain is gone. Then find another tender spot along that same muscle and repeat. Start with the most uncomfortable spot first to get the most bang for your buck. Works like a charm. I promise!

You have to mention the following when talking about that condition, otherwise it's really incomplete or bad advice : the difference between pain and injury, tear or no tear (scar or no scar), adhesions, degeneration, pain relief options (cold, massage, etc.) + exercises and treatments (shockwave therapy, PRP, surgery, TENEX surgery, etc.). You only mentioned massage, which can help, but it can also make pain worse.

1st Bench press exercise …. Elbow shouldnt go behind your shoulder. Can cause awful problems through over rotation of shoulder/ rotator cuff injury. Keep elbow above the horizontal

lets be honest, this guy spends ZERO time around anyone over a 0 handicap good luck if you buy this nonsense fractional strokes as a 19 handicap you have been duped
@notreese2289

I mean not really, yeah focusing on fractions may not be what you need to work on but lowering your expectations based on the stats helps with lowering the stress and will give you a little more confidence when stepping up to a ball from the rough. Had my friend that shoots in the hundreds commit to easy targets that he would normally try to make hero shots on and he actually shot in the 90’s.

nothing about split squats falls under the category of 'simple'. they are highly intense and technical to stabilize and get any depth and require a great deal of strength. i'm a lanky 6 5 and do them, but it took a long build up and you really need to warm up the leg muscles with other exercises before the squats, which is the finishing movement. single leg balancing is a great warm up, then the leg hinge or 'airplane' as i like to call it (as shown above). once the ankles/legs/hips/glutes are warm and firing, only then do i start single leg split squats (back leg on couch). they are very intense for most normal men over 50 with only body weight. start slow, do few, build up as possible to twice per week at most.

I love my compound lifts and my ideal time to workout is around 1hr30min. I get stuck wanting to add some more "optimal golf training" workouts but I don't like sacrificing the time that I could be using to improve my general strength and mobility. Can be a difficult balance when you want the best of both worlds

I started doing Brian's Egoscue exercises about 2 months ago and it has been a game changer. Along with the cold therapy, breath work, meditation, the exercises I do every morning have given me flexibility and stability I haven't had in 30 years. I'm 64. Good stuff!

One question regarding the last exercise: I’ve also seen variations where the turn would go towards the other leg, not that one that’s one the ground. Is that wrong ? What’s the main difference?

My son his freshman year summer injured his L5 playing AAU basketball while growing a lot and over training and playing 9 games a weekend which I wasn’t aware of until we were at the spine specialist his junior year where he had to shut it all down for a year It’s been a tough road and lost time and I’m glad I found this

Great execises. Thanks for sharing. I've saved your video for future reference, as I'm trying to improve my club head speed. I'm 67 years young and in good physical shape, but my current club head speed has decreased to an average of about 88 MPH with the driver. I'd like to bring it up another 5 MPH. Do you you think it's possible if I keep doing your exercises?

More bend from the hips helped me. I have a long torso, so I require more bend to get my shoulders back.
@paulbeaney4901
@paulbeaney4901 6 ай бұрын
I found that i do this because i have a long torso and short legs. I fixed this by adding more bend at the hips. This extra bend really straightened my upper back and got my shoulders in the correct position. I can not bend the "normal" amount and get my shoulders correct due to physical limitations in my build. I would love others' opinions on this or if someone has tried what i am saying and found success.

O man, I have the SAME issue, I'm 5'6, but my legs are barely 3 ft from hip bone to floor....my arms are also short, my wrists are right at my hip bone...so, I'm close to the ground, which shouldn't require a ton of bend, but my arms are too short to reach the handle so I end up with excessive knee bend hunched shoulders, and almost full upright torso, I gave standing further away a try, and ir does feel better bur your hands will feel super low at first and the shaft will look insanely flat to you, but on camera it looks perfecrly fine...im not sure if you had this issue too but i also had trouble making a shoulder turn because my chin was tucked into my chest, just so bunched up
