Fair enough! We are sort of using this as both a test of the effectiveness of wax AND to show how to apply the wax though to be honest.

Interesting study, the lift method definitely does show off the importance of wax! Seems like a lot of variables considering some pucks would slide while others remained put. It would be interesting to create some sort of flicking device that could be calibrated to flick with the same force every time. Then you could measure how far the pucks slide given the same flick. Could even patent such a device to sell to Crokinole tournament holders to verify proper board prep before games.

Thanks for these videos! I'm excited, this is my first crokinole board, and while I know it's not the high end, I still think it's going to be a great addition to the game room! Maybe someday, when it becomes more popular with friends and family, I'll go for an upgrade! 🙂

I’m really disappointed that the backers who ordered the boards first have to wait. It seems the elite boards were being pushed a lot harder. Think about the people who were expecting shipping of the regular boards first.wothout them, you probably could not do the elite boards this round. Very disappointing.

He was talking in the email that the standard factory was - not replying to invoice - taking longer to do the work - messed stuff up that had to be fixed (pegs in last email) why are you disappointed that cheaper work gives cheaper results that takes longer to rectify? You can usually choose 2 out of three: quick, cheap, good.

I ordered the regular boards then he sent an email saying we could upgrade to the elite boards. He said the elite boards were better quality and would likely ship faster. So I upgraded. You didn't and that's fine. Is he supposed to spend money warehousing these boards and withhold them from their backers because your feelings will be hurt if you don't get yours first?

I have worked both assembly line & print shop jobs in my past, so nothing really surprised me about this video...UNTIL you panned upward & we got to see the use of the heat at the peak of the building, being used to dry/cure the coating on the boards. The whole zig-zag line of "Crokinole Gondolas" being "timed" before they descend to be processed-MIND BLOWN. Thanks SO much for giving us these inside details. It's so orderly & clever. Like that purple undercoat-it will give the colors greater lustre. Very well done.

I have been thinking about that too, I think we could arrange some of those next year. We may offer that on our next Kickstarter, it would be a PREMIUM, high-end table without the logo at half the cost!

@@sybrwookieI'm a GM at a textile manufacturer and we wouldn't be in business if we tried to manage the heat and humidity of our plant with AC instead of rotating people in/out of extreme areas, providing gatorade and electrolyte frozen popsicles, and providing them with uniforms designed to cool them. For some factories, heat & humidiity, is just part of the job and doesn't mean they are treating their workers poorly. That said, if you want to be concerned for the workers, I'd be looking at the lack of a workplace safety protocols or the enforcement of one if they have one. I'm no fan of OSHA (which I know doesn't apply here anyway) but they are working in Crocs, painting/sanding without respirators, and operating machinery without hearing & eye protection.

Looks like care is being used in the making of these boards, which I like to see. And, yeah, all those hanging boards do kinda remind me of the back of a meat locker. Funny how the right setup, without anything actually being wrong, can give someone an unsettling feeling.

the title made it seem like this was a tour of how it's made, but this video seems more like a vlog of the factory. I don't feel like we get a step by step walkthrough of how the product is actually made

In some of the clips, I noted they were wearing masks. May not be full on respirator protection some places in the US use, but I was glad to see something.

I'm worried about that logo placement on the play field. It shouldn't be there on an elite model. Put it in the well, and put 2 one across from the other, would be so much better 👍

Two suggestions: 1. Please don't place the Logo on the playing surface, or any other inner part! 2. Maybe it's possible (if not too complicated for upgrading the orders), offering the Elite Board not only in orange-red, but in a few more colours to choose from? That would be absolutely fabulous!!!😊

I am very excited and will definitely upgrade to the elite board, but please change the orange ring color...I really dislike that. A dark ring would be much better. And also please no logo on the board!!

Let me also add the comment that the Logo look weird where it is place on the sample. I'd rather have no logo, but if you must have it then please don't put it on the playing surface. Put it somewhere else please! If the logo was somewhere else, then I would upgrade in a flash!

The 20s holders will probably be a little jiggly because the rim is thinner.

The ELITE board has a different acrylic disc holder due to the rim being narrower, but both the standard and ELITE will come with all accessories. The Bag is an optional add-on for either Standard or ELITE too and it works great for either board.

At 1:08 the beech board looks like two different shades of wood fused together. Or is this just a lighting reflection? I hope the wood surface is all just one piece.

Want to upgrade, agree with the comments on the logo (it's a great logo but detracts from the board). Trying to work out how to safely turn the whole thing into a coffee table when not in use because the upgrade looks so good.

I would build a frame with 4 legs on it to rest the board on (or buy a wood garden table the right size). Then get a round piece of thick glass/acrylic to put over the top. Not something I would do but it should be fairly easy to accomplish.

I ordered a 2-pack in one shipment, (one for me and one for a friend.) Can't we upgrade both tables? On the other hand, indeed the red and the logo take me out, but without logo and with a natural wood color (or brown) background would be perfect.
