Lol had a little incident with a solar yard light yesterday, sounded very loud and violent! Cracked the light casing but it's okay and checked the helicopter out and all i could find was a small chip on one of the main rotor blades. Have replacements and thought about changing it, but it is so small and doesn't seem to affect it at all so i didn't bother. Have the same one btw, personally think it is the best colors for the stock helicopters. Im nowhere near as good of a pilot but it is still fun as hell. Videos like this definitely give me more confidence in the beautiful little machine.

It just seems like it has to become almost completely automatic unconscious control to do this. Just doing slower backwards upright figure eights trying to keep the same height and consistency is like brain surgery for me. Any even slight error in stopping a movement requires some time for me to see the movement to correct it... making it not look as nice. I just don't see how it is possible to stop all the movements exactly as needed without overshoot. Especially considering different helis likely have different power and collective/cyclic stick movements. Even if there was an error, some of the maneuvers don't seem to allow for time for correction.

Wow, is it a torque tube or belt? I heard people were saying 470L can't really autorotate, but this shows different thing. Also what weight was?
@CloudyFlyerRowdyNiemira Жыл бұрын
My 470l was belt drive. I actually earned how to do upright autos on that machine. Funny ebough, I started doing my first autos with a 450pro dfc. I was told that if it has an autorotation gear and OWB, the machine can do an autorotation. Those are facts. Wouldn't want to do an auto with a machine smaller than say a 300 class machine as there won't be enough energy. But if you learn how to auto on smaller birds, you can do it on any of them, and it will be much easier. With a lot of simulating and practice of course. I hoped that helped! 🚁💨💯
@cutefox8319 Жыл бұрын
@@CloudyFlyerRowdyNiemira Thank you for the reply! Oh you mentioned some autorotation gear, i actually was curious about it recently, i saw some autorotation tail gear while was browsing 470L parts, so i became curious what it means. Could you please explain me the difference? I guess by default 470L kit comes with normal gear and i will have to replace it for better autorotations? And again, what is the main difference?
@CloudyFlyerRowdyNiemira Жыл бұрын
Your autorotation gear is on top of your main drive gear. There is a one way bearing that allows your main rotor to spin when the power is cut from the motor. That's what allows you to do an auto. In aligns nomenclature I've seen them call it a "tail drive gear". While doing an auto the machine talks to you. You can see and hear the blades speeding up or slowing down changing with the amount of pitch you give it. It only takes very little. Too much and you will stall.
@cutefox8319 Жыл бұрын
@@CloudyFlyerRowdyNiemira ohh, so it is something like in a bicycle, when you stop using pedals, wheel spins freely with clicking? Honestly, i thought motor would be spinning as well during autorotation. So a default main gear have no such bearing? But then i don't understand how adding extra gear on top of old one will help if old one still will be in action. Sorry for such questions, i didn't have kit heli yet, but i plan to get one soon. Also i like how you said that the machine talks to you when you auto :)
@CloudyFlyerRowdyNiemira Жыл бұрын
@cute fox Correct, just like a bicycle. When your OWB is engaged, you will still have control of the machine. When you build this, you will see it clearly. Most helis are set up in this fashion. The sim will be your friend and save you a lot of money in the long run. Don't attempt to do this at all until you fully understand and have all of your basics down. Watch alot of videos, practice, and go to a local field if you can. Meet with some real pilots. I hope you stick with it. 🚁💨💯

You can fly like a mad man lol Kick ass, love my 470LM. How do you do that, if you don’t mind me asking?
@CloudyFlyerRowdyNiemira Жыл бұрын
Just like any other heli, you give it a little negative on the way down and then flare right before the deck. Listen to the speed of the blades coming down, and you can see and hear the blades speed up or slow down depending on the amount of pitch your giving it. If you are too heavy on the pitch it will stall. I hoped that helped a little bit. 🚁💨

That's awesome man! Very smooth flight! I've never tried anything but stock blades.....can you really feel that big of a difference? I've heard a few people say RT are their favorite for feel and sound.
@CloudyFlyerRowdyNiemira Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Blades are very personal. They absolutely make a huge difference and We could make a video on this topic alone lol. Some are quicker off center, some are perfect for big air and fast forward flight, some have more lift and can auto for days. It just depends on your preference and style. Ideally you would want some smooth quiet blades. They'll track better and provide the best performance. There is a give and take with blades. If they are super awesome in one area it can take away in another. That's why having an awesome all around blade is what everyone tries going for. I think you just gave an awesome topic for a future video right here! Great question and thank you so much for watching! 🚁💨💯
