I need to do it with 5252 but it is ‘locked’. How can I unlock it?

I have the same printer model, it doesn't recognize the blue and red ink, I think I messed up something in the maintenance mode when I tried to change the printer's language, I think I put some wrong codes and the printer no longer recognizes these two inks, I replaced the ink and bought a cartridge holder with sensor, and it still doesn't work... I think it's something with the firmware or some wrong code I put that broke, can you help me solve it?

Hi. I have a DCP-J315W printer that is not working. The screen says "Unable 4F", if I go to the menu/Cleaning... it says "Cleaning".... but it does nothing.... do you know if there is anything I can do?

Although this was not the issue, moving the print head allowed me to see a very tiny piece of paper that had torn off, thus resolving the my Paper Jam issue - Thank You !!

I wish this worked for me but does not. Brother has sent me two sets of new cartridges but still it does not work, mainly the Cyan colour cartridge. I am getting very angry as this has been ongoing now for the past four weeks and printer is out of action.

This did not work on my MFC-465CN. I reinstalled the drivers as they all said failed,then said ok after using the installation cd. No maintenance screen comes up even when trying the 2864 number. The one time the maintenance screen came up,the down key to get to purge doesn't work. Wasted hours getting nowhere. Maybe there's a software/driver defect. Time for a new printer unless someone has another solution?

I have an XP-4205 , we have only ever used 49XL ink with the printer but this time bought a value pack of 604XL .. it says compatible and it’s the same as you have used here but it won’t recognise it , I’ve triple checked it’s installed properly 😢 Is there any thing I can do?

Brilliant! I followed these directions with my MFC-465CN and they worked, with one exception. Rather than holding down the "start" button and plugging the printer back in, I held down the "menu" button and plugged the printer back in. Thank you!

I've had a Canon IR8750 for a few years now, but keep finding the same problem occuring. The pigment black has plenty of ink in its tank and on the sponge where the ink comes out, but it doesn't matter how many times I ask the printer to clean that cartridge, I can't get anything out of it. Any sugggestions as to what further I could try?
