I finaly got mine in...driver side the tabs go down and the ridge goes toward the manifold not the up pipe. I fought that stupid thing most of the day trying to get all three holes on the gasket to line up without folding the gasket up.

I can't get bottom hole of the gasket closest to wheel well on driver side to line up with exhaust flanges, not even close. How do you get the driver side in? Been at it for most of the day.

How far apart?

Its the fuse on mine but what if it gets getting blown?

Cody, I am hoping you will respond to me. I have a 2000 Chevy Impala 3.4 engine and the car is giving me the P1441 code. "EVAP System Flow During Non-Purge. I replaced the purge valve solenoid and the engine light with this code return again within a week. Not sure what to do next. Is possible a bad charcoal canister is causing the P1441 code? Thank you so much in advance.

Nicely done thank you! Related note that might help others - if you remove the cat and weld in a pipe section like I did on my car, you will also get the 420 code. In short - no cat = 420 code.

Seems to be a common issue on the 3800 impalas. Don't know why. Mine was plugged to and had to replace it

Is there different part numbers for the drivers side and passenger side? Because on the passenger side it will go no problem with the ridged part towards the pipes but the drivers side isn't gonna go that way unless I bend the hell out of that gasket or turn it around with the ridged side facing the turbo

I know this video was three years ago, but there's no way a direct fit catcon was only $218 at AutoZone. Especially one that actually clears the P0420 code. Is this a joke? That part today is like $500 ($300 if you get it online at third party sites).

First off, great video. Secondly, I have a question in regards to my 02 Malibu. Toward the end at 1:38 there is a smaller hose branching away from intake (what I assume to be larger hose). That hose is approx. a foot long and connects right under the spark plug assembly in the back. Can you tell me what that hose is called/if it can be removed without taking spark plug assembly out? I hope this makes sense.

My engine started making a weird air sound and we got to looking and found 2 tubes to nowhere. One is that U shaped hose from the PCV, which is open at the far end, and the other is an open clear tube attached to a copper tube, whcih comes out at that center hole where your PCV one hooks in. Any idea what would be going on here?

I got a 2007 Impala 5.3 V8 and the thing is slow to get up and moving. Shifts good just floor the accelerator and it takes forever to get up and going. No CEL but is this a clogged cat?

Did run good on highway but stalled at stops if foot not on gas? Did it stall right after starting and then make a rattle sound if foot not on gas?

Did you have any other symptoms besides the CEL throwing that code?

Same thing happened to my mother impala but the fuse keeps popping and the engine light keeps coming on n she needs to get her car inspected. Idk why it keeps popping. One fan work but the other doesnt and they are brand new radiator fans. We replaced the fans thinking that's what it was but it didnt fix it

Hell yeah, ima try that next, fuck it ima buy the hole branch, I got a family owned 2001 malibu. It's a good car it just needs some tlc. I'm also thinking about head gaskets and intake gaskets swap out.

Are both fans always suppose to kick on at the same time or is there a only one fan that kicks on and when the car heats up, then second fan kicks on?
