the pickup settings were different the entire time, so this entire demo barely gives one an idea of the actual differences.

@@laurifinlandia the purpose was to show the sounds of each guitar. this includes also different PU settings. do you only play on one setting on your guitar?
@laurifinlandia3 күн бұрын
@@TomMarcozzi i don't, but if i tried to show you the difference between, say, a les paul and a tele, i wouldn't be showing the difference between the les paul neck pickup and the tele beridge pickup, because it's apples and oranges. you might as well compare distortion on one guitar with cleans sounds of another. but that is just my opinion, no need to make anything of it. the playing was great and i still watched the entire video. have a good one.

I really enjoyed this lesson - I've not really listened to much JB - but its remarkable that there are quite a lot of Steve Lukather moves in these phrases with that extra half step voiced on the bend (and on the last lick with the repicked note), then that half step bend up from the 9th to rehit the target note - and that ascending line with the pedal tone. I'll check out some more of your videos!

I have a Deluxe Reverb 65 reissue too. But it doesn’t take overdrive or distortion pedals too well (to my ears) in the reverb channel at low levels due to the bright cap. Yours sounded good, so wondered what volume you were playing at. Important in this amp as the bright cap only affects the tone below a certain volume.
@TomMarcozzi3 ай бұрын

This was excellent, so fun to learn and just enjoyed playing this. I would say it's more like A mixolydian therefore key of D major because of the G chord? Or A Major and parallel Amin? What's model Stratocaster is that and how did you get that tone? Sounds great. Thankyou.
@TomMarcozzi4 ай бұрын
thank you very much! yes it can also be looked at as mixolydian. but mainly playin A major pentatonic with altering the third depending on the chord. the main goal with this is, that someone can play a cool solo without any knowledge of music theorie 👍
