Nice to see your hard work pay off and you should be very proud of all you have accomplished! Looking forward to seeing more of your projects! I am moving to New Orleans in the next few months. My best friends purchased their vacation home and I will be living there full time to tend to the property and garden. So we are doing a complete renovation on the house as well so this has been very interesting to hear and see you share your experience! Looking forward to more videos in the future!

Just a safety tip, you should never wear gloves while operating a saw of any kind or drills for that matter, the cloth can catch and pull your hand into the blade or bit.

I recently found your channel and have been working my way through your videos from the start but I really love hearing about the bees, beekeeping is something i've always wanted to try and the way you depict it make it seem so accessible
@lenathesock19 күн бұрын
Beekeeper KZbin has been so helpful!! Sometimes it does feel intimidating to start a new hobby but it helps to understand the basics. We bought a hive box in the beginning and that was really beginner friendly. That helped tyler get his foot in the door and he really just did a lot of research from there!

Everything looks so good. I about fell out of my chair when you said y'all didn't have air conditioning! How did you not have a heat stroke??
@lenathesock19 күн бұрын
Lots and lots of water. Honestly that heat wave was the worst we’ve felt (it was record highs like high 90s/feel like in the 100s. We took a lot of breaks and tried not to overdo things. Not having AC has def readjusted my temperature tolerances - If you’d believe it, now I enter a conditioned space and it’s too cold! Thanks so much for watching!

Glad to see back and working on your house. I like the beams, I think it was a good design choice to visually lower the ceiling. Don't feel bad about not being to help with them, they're heavy and you're holding them over your head, while balancing on a ladder, not something you're used to doing. It's alright to ask for help. It will be nice to see which color you selected.

Dropping by to comment that your videos came up on my recommended a couple days ago and I've watched your whole catalogue since! I'm looking forward to seeing your work on the kitchen and am also fascinated by the differences in environmental needs between your location and where I live in Northern Alberta, lol.
@lenathesockАй бұрын
I think about this so often (especially since we don't have HVAC!) - our home is so leaky (bc of many factors like lack of insulation, the original flooring being subfloors, etc) but also the high ceilings, transoms, and overall it being a sidehall shotgun -- it was designed to maximize air flow. We have interesting problems that we come across bc of our home's design (like how to insulate when you don't have wall cavities bc its barge board). Your home's design all depends on your climate, which I find very interesting. We wouldn't be able to swing it in our house if it was in Northern Alberta haha. Thanks so much for watching! :~)

Wow - I was excited to see a new video and.....the bathroom completion. I started to watch, then you said it's been about a year since part I. I didn't realize it's been that long, since I've probably forgotten much of part I, I'm going to re-watch it 1st. To be continued...... Inspiration video - Yes, still a fan of bead board and hex floor tile. Spoiler Alert - noticed your dream cabinet in this video. Commenting as I watch - Love the horizontal window, it's a perfect fit for that wall, almost like it was begging to be there! Switch Plate Box - I think actually moving it, centered in that space and just below the chair rail trim would be the best place. Might require hiring an electrician to do it, but could be combined with other electrical you might need to hire out as well. OK - now that I've watched you actually finish the outlet, it looks good. It turned out very nice, the frame around it works nicely. Love the bird hooks - very pretty, brass is always nice in a bathroom. It would be nice if you would share links to purchases, these hooks and the sconce lights you installed also. TY Suggestion - I think baskets or bins would look nice in the curio cabinet for all the products. Would group like things together and give a less clutter look. The cabinet was a really nice find. The bathroom looks so pretty and all the work you guys put into it, it shows! Very nicely done! P.S. - I like the cubbies, great hidden storage. The tall one on the end, can add a shelf in it, great place for cleaning products for the bathroom.
@lenathesockАй бұрын
I do think baskets would help keep things sorted (now to just source them..). I’ll have to try to find the links for the lights but the hooks are from a shop on Etsy called ‘StylentDecor’! Thanks for watching :~)

Surprise update! ✨That window makes all the difference, was thinking you’d probably ex the other to the sunroom but the trim work pulled them together nicely. So glad you decided to extend the bead board to the edge, my ocd was a little triggered before haha 😅 High fives for the FB Marketplace score, that cabinet is gorgeous!

I love what you guys are doing! My wife and I bought a 120yr old home in the historic district of Mid-City New Orleans a couple of years ago to renovate. We originally planned to pay a contractor to do the work of restoring it but unfortunately he ran away with the money. We made do though and ended up doing a lot of the work ourselves. It wasn’t easy by far but it’s all done now. So we completely understand how it is and about the surprises these old homes love to give unexpectedly. We definitely had our fair share of them too. Just hold tight because the finish product will make it all worth it… not just in the property value you’ve added but the blood sweat and tears that it took to make the dream something tangible and unique to you guys. That moment will be priceless. Anyways, I’ve subscribed and definitely look forward to your updates. Keep up the good work guys!
