It's finally time! We're starting on our kitchen renovation and it's been a long time coming. We clear the entire kitchen out and then gut the kitchen ourselves to begin this exciting process. It's not glamorous but it sure is satisfying to watch the kitchen be less ~ grungy ~
It's no secret that this kitchen has been a struggle for us. Between not having a proper kitchen and dealing with the chaos of the room, it's been tough. We "dealt" with it for nearly a year while we saved to take on this project, but the time is finally here!

It was in a lot worse shape than it looked, once the cabinets were removed. I really like your inspiration insert, the greens, butcher block, bead board, very nice. Color options - I pick #2, but honestly think you should stay in the green tones to relate to the sunroom. Please tell me you're keeping the upper, glass door cabinets? If you don't keep them in that location, they would look good in the dining end of the kitchen. Maybe a narrow counter underneath, use as a coffee bar or built in buffet. It's going to be a great series!

I love what you guys are doing! My wife and I bought a 120yr old home in the historic district of Mid-City New Orleans a couple of years ago to renovate. We originally planned to pay a contractor to do the work of restoring it but unfortunately he ran away with the money. We made do though and ended up doing a lot of the work ourselves. It wasn’t easy by far but it’s all done now. So we completely understand how it is and about the surprises these old homes love to give unexpectedly. We definitely had our fair share of them too. Just hold tight because the finish product will make it all worth it… not just in the property value you’ve added but the blood sweat and tears that it took to make the dream something tangible and unique to you guys. That moment will be priceless. Anyways, I’ve subscribed and definitely look forward to your updates. Keep up the good work guys!

I love the homes in that area, I bet it was so worth it for your family to renovate (I’m jealous of how close you are to city park!) Thanks so much for watching!! :~)

It’s about 10mins from City Park… right in the area of Canal and The Greenway intersection.

Blue option. Since the kitchen walls so tall. The top half being white and the bottom half being the blue option would look good

Hi, nice to see you guys again. Cant wait to see what’s going on this Reno. I’m sure it will be great! Loved all colors. Two toned seems to be in with light on top dark on bottom. Good luck. You insulating? I had an old house in Mobile and there was none. Not sure if you can but it’s a thought…

That is a massive space. The state of those old kitchen cabinets was horrendous. The bead board aesthetic is nice. How will water proofing around the sink be addressed?

You will not do tiles in the kitchen at all? Tiles are easier to keep clean then beadboard specially where you cook and do your dishes..

Blue 1 is my favorite! Blue 2 is also pretty, though. But to be fair I'm pretty biased, I'm just not into while kitchens lol
