This is used in Klipper called exclude object, bambu had incorporated it along with orcaslicer. But always use it in certain cases, like porinting with ABS or ASA and it starts to warp or a piece breaks loose and you catch it quick enough

There is liquid metal jetting 3d printer that can print like that. Xerox bought the company vader systems to build a 3d printing division...then promptly abandonded it.

I don’t 3d print but isn’t that super inaccurate and kinda pointless

No its actually extremely useful and important
@cadensherman1983
@cadensherman1983 9 сағат бұрын
You’re kinda right. It’s inaccurate because it’s one really thick line, which isn’t what the nozzles are designed for and thus you get the sort of wiggly toothpaste effect. The point of it isn’t the final product though, it’s the methodology that’s being used. Most 3D printers operate very slowly by laying layers on top of each other. This is more of a demonstration of doing something completely different with the same mechanical parts.

Nah, it's pretty dang cool.. It's silly to be dismissively ignorant of things that seem like 'little steps' to you, stuff like this and arc overhangs, may very well result in nearly supportless printing techniques in the near future.

This reminds me of an idea I had. Since so many games are so big enough to need their own drives, I thought it be cool to have a hot swappable drive as a cartridge with game art on it.

Thank you, that was great! I have been looking for someone to outline the differences. I've been using octoprint for a couple years and have been looking into Octoklipper. At this point I think I'll just go with the Octoprint plug-in. Maybe full on Klipper next! No cameras (yet) and mostly control from the desktop.

I can't stand waiting 10 hours to print a single part. Only Delta-style 3D printers seem capable of cutting that down to just 1 hour.

The yellow light is a gimmick. It just counts the number of cups of coffees. It will go orange after about 200 cups. If you use distilled water no need to descale. If u care to turn the light to white, run it thru descaling cyle twice. The machine counts 2 end of water cycle and the light turns white. Again the machine does not know if it is truly clean or not. In summary: 200 cups orange 2 cleaning cycles white
